We stayed here in Jan 2013, group of 12 friends. There were two other guests here at the same time. The chalet is in montriond and the owners provide access to the slopes via minibus (2, one seating 8 the the other 7). It's our first stay in a non ski-in/out chalet and I think I would do so again. The benefits (value for money, hot tub and sauna) outweigh the downside of not being able to pop straight onto the slope (the only real problem for me was that the logistics meant it was impossible to be at the lift for it opening). The two lifts that you're taken to (Ardent and pleney) are close and provide perfect points to start the day with varied runs accessible. Pick up was prompt and flexible on one occasion we needed it to (Lindsay picked us up on Les Gets at short notice).
The food was the best I've had in a chalet (Mike the cook was excellent). The other chalet host Phoebe was friendly and efficient, what else do you need.
The communal spaces are excellent, two large areas with a large fire. The hot tub was very welcome although it didn't maintain its temperature well after being in it for 30mins or so.
Free bar included in price was good value, previous chalets limit wine to the meal, this was not the case here.
Boot room with Warmers was welcome.
I didn't use the sauna but friends did and had no complaints.
Skis, boots and passes were delivered on our day of arrival. Two guests had problems (one had tight boots another's dislocated shoulder required a change to blades) and replacements were delivered promptly. This was very welcome when compared to previous years hauling gear from the rental shop to the chalet on arrival/last day.
Lindsay also helped organise a special surprise celebration. She did this tactfully and efficiently. We had a surprise cake and champagne.
The only negatives were that some rooms have limited storage (I understand this is being addressed) and one guest didn't have his bathrobe until day 3 (although in sure this oversight would have been corrected earlier had we highlighted it).
In summary having been many catered chalet holidays this was one if the best. Lack of ski in out meant better accommodation and value for money. Lots of little things added up to make it very enjoyable. Our stay at chalet beatrice will make us much more likely to do non ski in out again. Having read the previous poor reviews things have changed dramatically and I would happily recommend Beatrice and stay here again should we return to Morzine.
