This pub used to be good, but now it is excellent. First class Menu, cheese souffle/mussels/calves liver etc locally sourced, in traditional/contemporary atmosphere. Log fire, Farrow and Ball colours, old portraits and paperbacks make this a very attractive place to eat and drink. Reasonably priced, and attention to detail make this a special place to visit and a standard above most other pubs of its sort. It seems to be run by a young team and although service can be a tad slow at times.. (it is busy)..the wait is worth it. Book first.
