“Far from noise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

The hotel located far from noise, it is not in Sauraha city, it is very close to the community jungle where you can walk and enjoy some birds seeing and go to the elephant barn.

However, we stayed there for 3 nights, we felt like royals, all of our needs were achieved, when we go out 3 persons will be with us. The lodge has 7 rooms and more than 14 stuff every one is devoted to help you.

We took a tour though them and they promised to take us to Chitwan national park but for a reason they did not, and they did not say that we just discovered this fact when we finished the 3hrs jungle safari walk. I was really disappointed.

This is a family run hotel and there you will feel back home, it would be very much better if a swimming pool was there cuz it is very hot especially when the electricity is down.

We stayed 2 nights at the Chitwan Gaida Lodge and we were really very happy with our stay! I would definitely recommend it! We had no plans for accommodation we just saw the sign from the bus and decided to pop in to take a look. The price of the room was very decent, the room was big, spic and span and cozy with mosquito nets, very efficient fans, wifi and bathroom and a little outside space too and most of all the staff were incredibly competent and friendly. They all really take care of their guests and do everything they can to make you have the best stay at their lodge. The lodge is also close to the town and a very nice little village too where the locals are very friendly so for us it was perfect!

Hadn't pre-booked anything in Chitwan, saw a Gaida Lodge tout as I got off the bus, got a ride there, checked out the room, and was sold. 400 Rupees for a single (actually with a double and single bed) en suite. Unlike much of Nepal, they have 24hr electricity, and the wifi signal's pretty strong. The staff are wonderful and never too busy for a chat. Very relaxing and peaceful, fresh food at the restaurant, laundry service, and all excursions and bus tickets are organised on site. I stayed for four nights, but would happily have stayed longer. Bring your mosquito repellent for evenings at the bar area, or they'll eat you alive! Will definitely stay again in the future.

Room Tip: Never saw the higher priced rooms, but the 400R per night rooms were perfect! Nothing fancy, but the...

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for 4 nights recently and had the time of our lives there. From the minute they collected us from the bus station to the moment they dropped us off again we felt we were in such good hands and really felt like we were staying in a much more expensive place.
the staff here are just amazing, I still don't understand how all of them can smile as much as they do, genuine smiles too!
The room was huge, we even had a bathtub! We also had a lovely patio area looking out onto the wonderful garden.

It really is the small things that make a guest house great, for example when we arrived there and every time we came back from an activity they had a cold lemon juice and cold towel waiting for us.

We did two different activities with them. The first was a 2 hour canoe and full day jungle safari. We really enjoyed this, initially it was just the 2 of us booked but then 2 others joined us and they dropped the price by 800 rupees each for us. We got to see lots of crocs and a couple of rhinos on the canoe. We didn't see much wildlife on the walk but our guide really tried his hardest to find some. Bishnu was a wonderful guide and we felt safe in his hands.

the second activity was a half day jeep safari. It was also great fun and we got to see 4 rhinos among other things.

Overall I honestly loved Gaida Lodge and felt so relaxed while staying there. It was by far the best guest house I've stayed at on this trip.

Also, if it gets too hot for you, there is a guesthouse further down the road (Rhino lodge, I think) that will let you use their pool for 200 rupees.

I stayed at Gaida Lodge for 6 nights in April 2013. The staff were amazing, very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. They were like family by the end of our stay. Had a brilliant full day safari, our guide Narayan was great, very experienced and full of knowledge about the jungle!! I don't think there was a question he couldn't answer. He really made our jungle safari excellent! We had 3 days of activities and had the same guide the whole time which was really nice and I think a more personnel experience. Even though it may be a bit more expensive than other place in Chitwan its well worth the extra money.

I stayed in the cheapest room, they were clean and hot water 24 hours. Good restaurant. We stayed at the lodge every evening as it was very relaxing and really good atmosphere. Hammocks are brilliant and you can even do some bird watching at the lodge. In all it was an excellent place to stay and would highly recommend anyone to stay at Gaida Lodge.

We stayed 3 nights in this lodge. First in their most expensive room with airco. Before we asked about electricity back-up. Why paying for airco if there is no electricity. They assured me that they had a generator so we would be ok. At 22.00 they stop the generator and they do not start ittill the evening. They told me next morning that that was normal. We changed to a simple room with fan and bathroom for fivehundred a room (with bathroom/hot water/fan) the airco room was 1800 or the same room without using the airco 1200. The rooms with airco are very nice and big with a big veranda. The 500 rooms are smaller but still with a small veranda to sit.they have a big garden with hammocks. The restaurant is quiet expensive and they charge also the servicecharge and governmenttax what will another 23 procent to your bill . Most ofthe expensive restaurants will do so. We didn't go with their safari's and they were not happy with that. For the first night in the aircoroom they charged us the the price for a room without airco sothat was very good. So a good place to stay.

We stayed here for 6 nights in March of 2013. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed including hot water and mosquito nets. We were a little turned off at first by their sales pitch, but found that their prices for a jeep safari were on par with the other places we scouted out in Chitwan. They bent over backwards for us when one of us was quite ill - they sent a guide with us to the hospital to act as a translator. We would highly recommend staying here.
