“Amazing Golf, Spa, Restaurant, Location ...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2009

Where to begin. First with the sceren location secluded from the rest of the world. It's almost like its dug into the ground when you drive up (on a nice little one-lane road that only emphasizes the unwinding process). The golf course is great (although not cheap for the area). The restaurants were very good. The only 'complaint' I have is knowing what outrageous prces this place charges for wedding - it's ridiculous.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Hyatt Tamaya for 3 wonderful days. Everything was perfect: the rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff friendly and reliable, the grounds clean and gorgeous. We found the restaurants to be convenient and acceptable (if a bit pricy for what we got) but the Corn Maiden served one of the best dinners I have ever eaten.

I would recommend visiting the Wal-Mart in town in to grab food/drinks to enjoy in your room and save some cash. The workout room is worth a visit, if only to use the free, world-class spa amenities after your workout - great showers and saunas. Our only disappointment was that the bars are more expensive than they're worth (our margaritas were rather mediocre), I would probably avoid them. But that was the one small downside, everything else was fantastic.

Bottom line: if you're in the area and looking for secluded relaxation you will be exceptionally satisfied with the Hyatt Tamaya. Perfect for couples.

Stayed 4 nights here at a conference May 12-16. Many rooms have two doubles instead of a king and hotel agreed to move us on second request (first clerk said not possible). Hotel is beautiful in a unique setting in the high desert. Golf courses are championship quality, especially Twin Warriors. Chef must be from L.A. because restaurant and banquet food was extremely funky and gimmicky. Would have liked some traditional Southwestern cooking while there but not to be had. Pools are excellent and warm--one adult pool, one family pool, and one children's pool. Staff was polite and plenty of them. My second stay here and would definitely come back.

Our family with 2 young children stayed here for 2 nights over easter break. My suggestion is that you call housekeeping as soon as you arrive and have them put an additional sheet on your bed. For some reason this Hyatt has purchased sheets that dont cover the mattress so they only have the bottom sheet reach about 3 inches above the end of the bed. As I had seen the reviews here I checked before putting my toes there. The housekeeper knew immediately what I was talking about (this is a common complaint) and simply put a second sheet over the first but in reverse so that the entire mattress was covered. It is really quite an unacceptable practice to leave the mattress uncovered. It was cold and raining so we missed most of the activities. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom amenities were of good quality. We would come again if we found the need to be in the area. There is a pizza hut, a walgreens and some other stores at the exit so you are not really so remote should a need arise. There was a disasterous Easter brunch with many yelling patrons so we simply left. I would be wary of any special events as the hotel did not seem to have a system to deal with its guests efficiently. Overall it has nice accomodations and a pleasant if poorly instructed staff.

First of all the double beds were really small! but thats all that was available that night! Our room had a 25" t.V which was not even a flat screen, you would think they would have flat screens for all the money they charge..I was expecting the rooms to be nicer for as expensive as they are.I didn't like that there was a 17.95 charge for resort fee!! Wasn't told about it at check in and thats just stupid!! Besides that the staff are friendly and the landscape and mountain views are nice. And oh yeah...check out time is 12:00, so why is housekeeping knocking at 10:00 am,just annoying!! And parking is far from rooms..unless you wanna pay 15.00 for valet!!

I stayed hear for 4 days for a conference. I travel quite a bit and I have never seen the quality of attentitiveness as was shown to me by the staff at this hotel. Very nice southwestern resort and overall relaxing, pampering atmosphere. My main complaints for my trip was the weather, which unfortunately they can not control. It was there "off season" so only 1 pool was open and the whirlpool heater was broken. They have an evening of smores that was very fun and again, when we wanted milk, the staff graciously went and go what we wanted. Free shtuttle to the Casino which is about 2 miles away. It is a bit secluded so if you want to see surrounding areas- rent a car.

A great desert like / mountain view resort. Spend long weekend there in late March, weather was warm (70s) during the day and chilly at night for great outside fireside cocktails/snacks.

Kids activities include a heated (very warm) pool with slide and horseback riding during day (2 hours). Kids camp is very much for younger children (under 7).

Golf course (Twin Warriors) was in pretty good shape and the desert course is very tough but also very fun. Practice facilities are great (driving range, large putting surface and two chipping / short game areas) for $10 per day for non-playing resort guests (free with green fee).

The food at the cafe was fabulous - Friday night prime rib buffet was wonderful with outstanding desserts. Sunday brunch was very good also. Pricing is typical resort range ($15-$20 per adult for meals; $10 for kids).

Rooms were good size with great views of Sandia Mountain. Have used spa before and it is first class as well.
