We regularly enjoy raclette or fondue dinners at La Table A Raclette. It is the best restaurant on the French side of the border and the only consistently good pick in Saint-Julien. All the traditional dishes are made from scrumptious local ingredients. They make a wonderful hand-cut steak tartare, too, and their superfresh, cripsy fries are absolutely delicious! If there is ever any room for sweets, I am always happy when they have meringues and double crème on the dessert menu... You get candy (in big mason jars) when they hand you the check, which is a nice, fun touch at the end of the meal. The restaurant itself is in a weird location (an industrial zone off the route nationale to Annemasse), which explains why the crowd is completely different at lunch time vs. dinner time. Either way, it is a most picturesque, very welcoming place for an intimate dinner, a family meeting, a business lunch, or a friendly gathering. Great food, big portions, friendly staff, very reasonable prices -- what else could you ask for? A terrace to enjoy your fondue away from the main dining rooms in the summer? Well, they have that, too! :)
