“A hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012

Unbeleavable this was a farm house converted 9 years ago to a family Resturant. The food is excellant, service was great and the price was way below what you would expect. You have a choice of either 20 euros or 30, a pre fix menus. Add a local bottle of wine and you will be returning to here again. Sophie, the owner speakers a little English, the place is out in the country but worth the trip. You will never be disappointed at this . Casual attire.

“Brilliant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012

We visited with friends on the basis of the TA reviews and weren't dissappointed- the food is great, it's a lovely setting (a short drive from where we were staying) and the service was friendly and professional. The accomodated our request for a vegetarian meal for one of the group, and our kids were well looked after too.

Highly recommended, the clearly care about what they are doing and work hard so deserve the praise they are getting. It is getting busy though, a few people turned up on spec the night we were there (a little odd given the rural location) and they couldn't be fitted in so make sure you book

“An Enjoyable Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2012

We live about 1 hour from Les Closeaux, and have tried all our local restaurants, so for a change we decided to consult Trip Advisor and found Les Closeaux - we were not disappointed. We enjoyed a very leisurly lunch. The food was excellent, so was the service. We run a similar business so know that you need a lot of imagination with menus, the Chef has certainly given lots of thought to his menu. Definitely recommended - we will also recommend to our chambre d'hote and gite guests.

“Country side marvel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2012

Excellent food. Very good service. Good wines and goodies. Reasonable prices. We were a bit disapointed by the surrounding landsacpe that has nothing exceptionnal. Just a country house. Also this is a bit far from Blois so you have to be motivated to drive till there but the reward is worth it.

“What a wonderful experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2012

Absolutely authentic French country side dining experience, with a price you cant find anywhere else in the world! Alright, maybe a little exaggeration there, but the food and dining experience is so good we try to make reservation for the next day right after we finished our dinner. But keep in mind, they open 7 days a week except Monday lunch.

You need a GPS if you are not familiar with the area. Forget about inputting the address into your GPS unit, just type in the coordinates (+47° 25' 48.27", +1° 6' 33.94"). It's about 15 min drive from Amboise center, and around the same distance to Chenonceau. Call ahead to make reservation because it will be booked up.

Make sure you stop for some stunning views on your way here, there were few white horses wandering around in the fields just down the road from the restaurant. The restaurant has it's own horses, plus a cute donkey.

The owner speaks English, not the servers. So if you need help with the menu, make sure you ask. Unless you are allergic to something, you cant really go wrong with anything on the menu. I personally would have 10 of Mousse de saumon if I can, its too good! If you visiting Loire valley, stop by here for it's authentic french cuisine with unbeatable price!
