We stayed here for the night before our early morning flight to Malta. We booked this hotel as our niece was having her wedding here at the end of August and said how good it was.
We booked one night stay with parking for 8 nights. As we were leaving for the airport at 3.45am we would miss breakfast, but a take out breakfast was made available. (An apple, cup of orange juice, a mini muffin and yoghurt.) We slept well and woke to find our breakfast, in a bag, waiting outside the door.
Taxi arrived to take us to the airport. Brilliant, until we get to the airport and the driver wants us to pay. "We've already paid. We're on a park and drive deal." No cases out until the phone calls has been made to check. Oops. Someone forgot to tell the taxi firm. After 10 minute, while the phone calls are made, we get our cases. The driver gives us a card to phone for a taxi on our return. Off we go to enjoy a fantastic holiday in Malta.
Back in Manchester we call the number on the card for a taxi to take us back to the hotel to pick up our car. "Sorry you need a code." "WHAT?" After making a couple of calls to the hotel and the taxi firm we are told we can finally have a taxi, half an hour after our first call.
Tired, fed up and slightly annoyed we get to the hotel. The young lady on the desk, sorry we didn't get your name, apologises for all the problems we'd encountered. This was down to someone not booking the taxi firm properly. (As part of the park and fly deal.) They admitted their mistake, were extremely sorry, and offered us a chance to sit down, relax and have a drink, by way of an apology, before our drive home. I had a delicious hot chocolate and my husband felt he needed a beer. Excellent handling of a very annoying situation.
Would I use this service again? Yes, but I'd probably double or even triple check that the taxis had been booked properly! The hotel made a mistake, but they did their best to make things right. We slept well, it's 10 minutes drive to the airport and we thought overall it's not bad value for money.
