We visit here often as it is a great park for our daughter (4 years). There is a gated large playground (no dogs allowed) that caters for very young toddlers to older teenagers with rocking creatures and lots of platform and slides, to a large climbing frame/tube slide, flying fox and swings. It is also excellant for scooters and small bikes as the whole area has lots of twisty tarmac paths that make it great fun. The only thing it suffers from is it an get a little water logged if there has been a lot of rain.
Out of the play park there are a lot of different paths and fields for a good leg stretch or to walk the dog. There is also a sizeable pond with ducks, swans and geese which is always a young child attraction!
Our favourite park of the visit has to be the Vinery Restaurant which is extremely reasonable for truly lovely food. I had a jacket potato with bacon cheese and mushrooms which was superb the crispiest jacket with a sizeable salad. Puddings are a must and the combination of there home made apple pie and toffee ice cream has yet, for my family to be beaten elsewhere! On a warmer day there is seating outside where dogs are also welcome.
