“Worst Bed&Breakfast ever”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013 via mobile

I have to say, that there's also a b&b and it's awful. I've seen a family with a young child and i can't imagine, how the kid could find sleep at night. It's very loud when there's an 'event' at the pubs area. And it felt like every evening was an event. Always loud, even in the morning at 7 cause they do some repairing stuff in the house. Remote of tv doesn't work, not enough toilet paper, used glasses for breakfast or not very clean, no staff if you need one. french fries at dinner were cold. we waited over 30min for the meal. I would never go back again. It should be much more cheaper than it is

“Food and Drink”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

The Governors has a very large seating area inside. The food is very good. They have a large seating area outside nicely furnished. The staff are helpful. The menu has a wide choice as well. They have a quiz night on a Thurday evening.

“Shockingly poor”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013 via mobile

Lunch time regulars, or we were....had started to go off this place with some subtle issues such as less or cold chips, not quite the polished presentation etc. It can't compete with the church inn or millington quality wise so its on cost it got my business.

Last time we visited noticed two things, annoyingly poor queue control from staff who served 3 sets of people after me, first but the main issue - a prawn sandwich.

This arrived with the prawns effectively frozen. We asked our server to take this back which she politely did. Then the manager came over and asked what the issue was. He then debated the matter with us, that prawns should be cold....we agreed...but not frozen....this uncomfortable agreement ended with him shaking his head and asking what did we want. We had been in no way obnoxious or unreasonable. We ordered another sandwich.....what came out 2 minutes later? Another frozen prawn sandwich. Terrible service from a manager who just didn't care.

“Wrong Food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013 via mobile

Visited on a lunchtime, bar tender struggled to operate till correctly for order, food served in intervals to each of us,
One meal arrived, complete opposite to what was ordered, in fact the meal was a creation not listed on the menu, chicken and beefburger?
Received cold response and a pint of lager placed on the table as an apology, fine, however nobody in the party was drinking lager.

The couple we came with reccomend we eat here, but have since agreed they will not return, a shame, they are very local and have had previously enjoyable visits.
