I have visited this restaurant a couple of times over the years and it seems like the quality of the food has gone down in recent visits. Although they still offer a great selection of fresh seafood, there seems to be more grease on the food than before. This time we went for lunch and found out that they do not open a minute early! Check times before you make the trip!
The menu is very limited for picky kids, my son ordered fried chicken and it was soaked in oil, however he did find it tasty. Other family members ordered whole fish and a small stuffed "corvina" which was huge despite the "small" size label. Also ordered a traditional ceviche as an appetizer and it was also good. I ordered a half portion of rice with shrimp and it was OK, lacked seasoning and it was served in an overstuffed small plate. Desserts are very limited and of course like all Costa Rican restaurants, there are no free refills on drinks. I ordered a natural drink and had to ask for an additional glass of water because it was overly sweet, so I sort of did get my refill. :)
The waiter was pleasant, answered our questions properly and was always on time despite that he had like half the restaurant to serve. All in all is a descent place for a casual lunch if you are in the mood for seafood at a fair price.
