It was a grateful experience - The place is amazing, the Radisson staff is very friendly and devoted.
The food was very nice, the concierge service was excellent.
We got two problems (a leaking in the room and an error in the bill due to another guest mistake which was solved quickly and painless).
Our room (Marina suite) was very clean and quiet.
The hotel has a beautiful garden and it`s very well maintained.

We just returned from the Radisson Resort with our three kids ages 5,4 and 10 months. We've been to St Maarten 3 times before and have stayed without the kids at La Samana. We were very impressed with this hotel. The location is very remote and surrounded by lush vegetation and green hills. Though relatively small, the beach is beautiful with gentle calm water. Ideal for kids to swim in. This hotel has one of the best pools I've ever seen. It is huge! Half of the pool is ideal for little kids to swim and splash around. The service overall was very good. We reserved the Marina Suite which was fine but a bit smaller than I expected. All the rooms are refurnished and comfortable. My one negative was that the Kids'Club was a let down. Pretty much a room with a TV and some arts and crafts. The women running it didn't not seem interested at all in the job. Finally, the hotel has a very nice European feel to it. Although St Martin attracts primarily American tourists, this hotel is currently 50-50 US and European tourists. The hotel changed to a Radisson about a year ago. Before that, it was Le Meridean.

We stayed the week between Christmas and New Year's, with room prices doubled or worse, and at those prices it was substantially overpriced. It's a nice, relaxing property, but it won't knock your socks off. The pool/beach area is pleasant, and the location between two quasi-pitons is picturesque. The beach is ok, but it's a bay beach and not something that in and of itself is worth the journey. Breakfast is good (and in most cases included), lunch at the C is fine, dinner on the property is a waste of time as Grand Case is a fifteen minute drive with the best restaurants I've eaten at in the Caribbean. Service at the hotel is virtually non-existent, except that the rooms are well-cleaned. Orient Beach is ok but overdeveloped; the beach at Grand Case is lovely - highly recommend lunch at California restaurant, with the beach right outside for before or after. Best thing we did was a day trip to Anguilla - about a half hour drive to Marigot, take the ferry to Anguilla, a taxi will drop you off and pick you up from Shoal Bay beach - now THAT's a beach worth going to the Caribbean for! Avoid the Dutch side of the island, and Philipsburg in particular - they took paradise and put up a parking lot.

I just spent 10 days in Radisson St. Martin along with 3 kids 12, 10, 7. Although not using much of the hotel structure, I do recommend it to everyone (except young ones looking for night life).

The hotel is very well located, in a calm bay. You are in the middle of the french side, close to popular Orient beach and also close to calm, reserved ones as Isle Pinet and Gallion.

Food is absolutely not the best part of the hotel. But you have 2 options right across the door.

Apart from that, excellent option.

Had a wonderful, relaxing 5-day stay at the Radisson - this is truly a first-class resort! Resort is located in Anse Marcel, in a gorgeous setting - peaceful cove and a picture-perfect beach surrounded by wooded hills. The resort is a little out of the way, which makes it great for a peaceful relaxing vacation but helps to have a car to explore the rest of the island. The drive up to the hotel is via a pretty steep hill and narrow winding scenic road, so a smaller car is better/more manuverable, and caution should be exercised. There is a small marina next to the resort, and boat excursions, snorkeling/diving trips leave from it - the trips can be booked in a dive shop rigth next to the hotel, or directly through the activites desk at the hotel. Motorized watersports such as jetski rental can be arranged through the hotel directly on the beach. The facilities were wonderful, including our spacious, sparkling-clean room with balcony, and the common areas, the pool, hot tub, and the immaculate grounds. At the same time, the resort is also child-friendly, with games and playground, and is geared towards families as much as towards couples. There are a few stores, a beaty salon and a minimarket next to the hotel in the tiny village of Anse Marcel. Food-wise, Radisson's Le Marché
is a casual buffet with good (also child-friendly) food and great variety. Our only negative experience in the resort was the 'C Le Restaurant' - food was downright bad, and very expensive. It is much better to drive the 10 minutes or so to Marigot, where there are lots of great local eateries, such as Bistro de la Mer on the main stretch or Sarafina's bakery. One good daytrip is to Ilet Pinel - tiny island a few minutes away by ferry from Anse Marcel. The ferry embarks from a dock located about 5 minutes by car from Radisson, $7 per person, every hour from 10:00am, and returns every hour until 5:00pm. The islet has a lovely beach, nice snorkeling, and a couple of nice bar/restaurants on the side facing Anse Marcel. Hiking the island end-to-end was also interesting.

We agree with all of the other reviews regarding the resort -- beautiful open air lobby, clean, spacious rooms/bathrooms, comfy beds. The grounds are very well kept, the pool is awesome, and the beach very nice and clean, however the water was very cloudy. That's where it ends...the drink offered up during check in was great, but the person who checked us in was either very new, or just not very knowledgeable about the hotel. We were taking to a room that was totally the opposite of what we requested and what is in our profile. So, back to the lobby for another room assignment. A bit frustrating as your first impression. Although they boast about their "finest in French-Caribbean Cuisine", C Le Restaurant, was not even open for dinner -- can you believe it????? Which left us with only one other option, a buffet. One evening we tried it -- we were actually seated, and at a clean table with silverware and napkins -- we ordered wine, got up to get our salads, and came back to find that they had seated another couple at our 2 top table...Very disappointing. Thank goodness for room service -- but who goes on an expensive vacation to do room service for dinner. Breakfast was also a buffet, and you had to seat yourself, try to get a server, or get your own silverware and napkins. The servers, in general, were not at all friendly or helpful. You felt as though you were imposing on them if you asked for coffee. Lunch, again, only one option, which happened to be the very same building as C Le Restaurant -- so why only open for lunch? Nobody could provide an answer. Overall, we were very disappointed. What you see online on their website is not what you get. It's a shame that such a beautiful hotel, in such a georgious location can't provide the service that people deserve and expect.

Ok, so here goes…..the Radisson, St, Martin. First you land at the airport, then get transportation to the Radisson which is located on the French side of the Island, but all the way from the on the opposite end from the airport. My first suggestion would be to rent a car. It’s cheap and you have it for the week. You also save the cost of round trip transfers. (This alone could cover the cost of a rental car for the week.) St. Martin is all mountains, so most of you’re driving in up and down hills. The Radisson is located in Ance Marcel on the other side of a mountain that you must drive over. This in itself is a thrill, but after two or three times you are really fine with it. The advantage is that it keeps everybody else (other tourists) away. When you reach there you pass through two gates that are always manned. Very secure feeling. The resort itself is pretty impressive. The main lobby is open air and quite charming. They greet you with a welcome drink as you are checking in. Then the porter takes your bags to your room or suite. We stayed in the marina suite, located obviously next to the marina. Each of the buildings is only two floors, and invokes an island feel about them. The suite is very spacious and comfortable; with sleep number beds king size. The bathroom is rather large with a separate shower and a tub/shower combination. (This is only on the second floor; the first floors do not include the separate showers.) You have two balconies. One located in the front overlooking the marina, which is a great view. And the other in the rear off the bedroom overlooking the manicured grounds. The entire resort is surrounded by three mountains, only one accessible to drive, and the beach. There are two restaurants on the grounds, and two more across the street from the main lobby. We found this resort to be very romantic and relaxing

THE BEACH...The beach is very beautiful and calm. My only complaint is that it stirs up too much sand in the water for me to snorkel right there. But it is calm, bay-like, warm, and beautiful to look at. Across the water from the beach is the island of Anguilla.

THE POOL...Very nice indeed. The pool is an infinity pool, only steps from the beach. The pool is very large, about five feet deep at one end and wraps around to the zero entrance side (like entering a beach). More than enough chairs. No need to run down early in the morning to place towels. Staff at the pool was tremendous. At around 3:00 in the afternoon they come around and bring you some fresh fruit sliced and cool. French lessons, rum tastings, and wine tastings. Bar is only steps from the pool located in Le C restaurant which also serves lunches. The food is above average for this type of resort but due to the euro, a little pricey than what we would be used to, but not over the top on price either.

THE RESTURANTS...There are two restaurants on the property, but due to electrical problems one was not open for dinner. Not to miss dinner, we went across the street from the resort to two restaurants that allow signing privileges to the Radisson. They are La Locanda, Italian...and Le Calypso, with a six cheese pizza not to be missed. Not to mention all of the menu items. Prices are about what you would expect at a resort, but again not over the top. We were only about 10 minutes away from Grand Case, which is alleged to be the gourmet capital of the Caribbean, yet alas, we just became too lazy to leave. Bummed it the whole week. We did go out for lunch however, but that was at the other beaches around the island. One in particular that we enjoyed was the Mai Tai. Located in-between Margot and Mullet bay, it can easily be missed if you’re not looking for it. Go through the bar and sit outside on the beach on picnic tables with tiki hut palms above your table. You can see Margot from here, and it has a nice breeze.

THE STAFF...Probably the nicest, most pleasant, and professional staff around. Starting from the top with Jeff, the General Manager, all the way down to the bartenders. Even when talking to staff about Jeff, they all had praises for the way they are treated, and state that this is how he expects them to treat the guests. You really do feel like family. We found them also to not be intrusive, yet very caring about your stay.
Would I go back……………in a heartbeat. Thank you Jeff for a memorable time
