My partner and I had the pleasure to stay at Ker Dame Marie for one week in mid-August.
Hosts Beatrice and Remi were kind, well-informed and extremely generous with their time and energy.
The establishment was suggested by a friend of a friend who knows the couple who bought this lovely 17th century manor house with park which beautifully sits directly on the Loire river. The Bonnviales left Paris two years ago to restore this lovely property and we had the privilege to be one of their first clients.
Beyond the beauty of the site and environs ( excellent bike paths, stone villages, charming small vineyards) what really made our stay exceptional was the welcome we received. Beatrice and Remi are clearly in love with their project and it shows.
They took the time to not only explain the region, its culinary specialties... but their project itself, plans to restore the park and their personal experiences.
Beatrice's near perfect English made this possible as my French doesn't go much beyond the most basic.
To conclude, I'd say that Ker Dame Marie is an excellent, relaxing place to stay to get a taste of the authentic Loire Valley and that the Bonnviale's are excellent hosts.
I can't recommend this place enough!
Thank you Beatrice and Remi
