We went for lunch twice while on holiday and will probably go back before going home. Entering is a bit like stepping back in time but it was warm, clean and our welcome could not have been friendlier.
At lunchtime there is a 'Dine out for £5' menu and during the week there is an 'Early bird' menu of 2 courses for £8.95 which is served at lunchtime and early evening. We sampled both and were pleasantly surprised by the good value and choice on the £5 menu - not a huge portion but freshly made, good quality and piping hot. ( I had a peppered pork loin with apple sauce and cheese and my husband had a minute steak).
The 'Early' menu has a great choice. I had chicken goujons with a garlic dip followed by lasagne and hand cut chips. My husband chose the haggis stack starter which had slices of haggis stacked with potato scone in between with a whisky cream sauce, followed by strips of beef fillet with a dijon and paprika sauce. Everything was beautifully presented and excellent value for £8.95 each. The portions were generous so make sure you are hungry when you go.
They also offer a steak night on a Saturday which comprises either two course or one course with a bottle of wine for two for a fixed £25.
