“Great Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2009

We didn't stay at the hotel (didn't find the place until after we had a B&B booked). But we did go to the Lewiston Restaurant in the hotel for dinner. It was fantastic. Very nice, clean restaurant. Service was outstanding. We had to wait for a table b/c we just showed up without a booking but it was worth the wait. (But make a booking to avoid it as it seems to be popular!) I had the lamb and it was so tender it melted in your mouth. The Applecross prawns were amazing as well! The restaurant is a nice cross between being an elegant place to have a meal but without all the stuffiness! It is very reasonably priced as well! It was a wonderful ending to a day of site-seeing.

If you're looking for a charming touch of Scotland and on the shores of Loch Ness this is not the place. What you get instead is an attractively renovated roadside motel on the 2nd floor above the restaurant pub on the ground floor in a residential neighborhood. With that said, the staff is fantastic, the restaurant is outstanding, and the place feels brand new. The guest rooms, however, are about as interesting as dormitory rooms - functional without one touch of decor. And there's no loch in sight.

We were somewhat disappointed because it was my fault that I thought the Loch Ness Inn might have some view on to Loch Ness, and that the rooms were very uninteresting, The restaurant is very artsy and modern, an interesting mix between modern style and the stonework that still shows through from the older building. The girls who seem to run everything do a great job and are very service oriented. It's also just a nice 30-minute walk to Fiddlers Pub in neighboring Drumnadrochit, where the whiskies are plentiful, and the food, including the haggis, is delicious.

So we enjoyed our stay at the Loch Ness Inn, but had hoped to see Loch Ness or something other than a residential street, and would have liked more interesting guest rooms. With that said, it is a very nice place to stay. Next time we'd probably find a more interesting location, and come to the restaurant for dinner.

Stayed at The Loch Ness Inn over Easter. The reviews will tell you it has not been open that long. You wonder if there is a catch? There is not. This place really is exceptional in just about every way... the welcome, the rooms, the food, the decoration, the engaging staff. Could we find fault? Well if I tell you I can normally find fault within 10 seconds of first contact. It took me until bedtime here. And that was only because the rooms are above the restaurant and you can hear a bit of noise. But really I am being very picky to say it. The only bad news is ... if you don't book it very soon when Mr tourist rating man visits and rates it five star (which he will) you will find it very difficult to get a room. If I return to the highlands it will be to here if the same people are running it because it truly is an exceptional little place.

This is a total gem of a place, I can't believe we were lucky enough to find it and also we were privileged in getting to know Kasia and Callum the owners. The room was lovely, great shower, fantastically comfortable bed - everything you would want. The evening meal was just great, we had prawns from Applecross to start followed by lamb. Plus an excellent bottle of malbec. We were lucky to stay up talking to Kasia and Callum - they are a fantastic couple and all their staff were brilliant too. Can't recommend this little inn highly enough - we will most definitely be back - just great.

We stayed here for two nights at the end of February. Very friendly welcome and good service. Fabulous dinner both evenings, as good as any top London restaurant, and a couple of excellent Bloody Marys in the bar to warm us up over the Sunday papers. Immaculately clean but only slight criticism that there were very small pillows on the bed and only two of them !! Would definitely recommend for a stopover and looking around the area wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else.
