“A warm welcome and a wonderful stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

I arranged our stay at The Old School as a surprise for my husbands birthday. Wendy suggested a venue for an evening meal and made the reservations for us. She is a fabulous hostess who truly makes everyone feel welcomed and at home.
The house is wonderfully decorated and extremely comfortable - we felt at home as soon as we arrived. Our room we was cosy, very comfortable, and the finishing touches like fluffy dressing gowns were a nice addtion!
There was a wide and varied choice of breakfast and it was all beautifully cooked.
All in all a wonderful stay - the only disappointnment was that we only stayed for the one night!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Kingham which is more like a little flat, which was lovely.

What can i say that hasn't already been said?!
Wendy you have created a turly wonderful place to stay! Me and my husband Simon enjoyed a (sadly) single night stay. We were welcomed by Wendy, given a tour of the building then enjoyed a lovely bit of tea and cake!
Wendy kindly booked us a table in advance for a local restaurant, the fox inn. The room was lovely, we had the kite brook room, I loved the nice bath tub, perfect for a soak! Breakfast was lovely too, where we met Emma, also a great hostess. It felt like we were staying with family! Sharing breakfast with the rest of the guests was lovely, sharing ideas of local places to go and visit.
Wendy we hope to return next year after our baby is born, to have another amazing time away!
Thank you again! Kelly and Simon

We loved our stay at Wendy Veale's beautifully managed B&B. Our rooms were gorgeously decorated, with lush, comfy beds, the most heavenly sheets, big closets, wonderful bathrooms. There were freshly-baked cakes at tea time, great suggestions for seeing the sights, cute pubs near by. She even invited us to use the laundry facilities -- amazingly nice when you are traveling. The other guests were charming, the little towns are wonderful -- what more can we say? It was a perfect visit.

Room Tip: I'm sure every room is wonderful. we had two -- each was delightful

My husband and I have just had a truly marvellous stay in The Old School in Little Compton. We agree with everything other guests have written about The Old School and its hostess, Wendy; she is fabulous and has hospitality down to a fine art, besides being a wonderful cook and also a mine of information on things to do and places to go in the area. Altogether, a simply spiffing special place to stay!

I spent 2 nights here with my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday and it certainly was a celebration not to be forgotten. At the helm of this wonderful bed and breakfast is Wendy, she made every single moment feel like we were at home and showed so much interest in us - you don't get service like this anywhere else! From Cluckingham Palace, to afternoon tea in the beautiful sitting room, to the made-to-order breakfasts and the tea and biscuits waiting for us in our room after a days exploration - the Old School will be seeing much much more of us in the future! You won't want to miss this wonderful experience. PS. I had planned this all as a birthday surprise, and Wendy is absolutely incredible at helping to craft a very special weekend!

Room Tip: We stayed in 'Kingham' but to be honest, despite not seeing the other rooms, I'm sure th...

My family and I stayed here for only one night... I know such a shame. We didn't want to leave! It was such a great experience. Wendy was so kind and helpful. She really was the perfect hostess. The house itself was very nicely decorated with fresh flowers everywhere. On top of that, the breakfast in the morning was fantastic. All of my family members had a wonderful time especially my younger cousin who enjoyed feeding the ducks and various animals in the yard. It was truly an experience I won't forget.

To anybody thinking about staying at the old school house, it is every bit as good as it looks on the website... please do not hesitate. We had a fantastic time, this place is special. Great breakfast, tea and cakes served every afternoon in front of the log fire.
We will be recommending to family and friends and will certainly return.
Thank you Wendy!
