Rarely find the need to write a review on anything, however having stayed at The Hollow Bottom on a recent trip to the Cheltenham area, I felt compelled to spread the word! This is a fabulous little pub, all warm and cozy. In August there was no need for a roaring log fire and the fireplace was adorned with flowers instead, but in the depths of winter it must be such a welcome. The staff are all genuinely welcoming, and that is obvious by the smiles they greet you with. Non of that false welcome....they really ARE pleased to see you. The accommodation is very "cottagey" and there are nice little touches everywhere (and a very nicely stocked beverage tray!) The restaurant itself serves a wide variety food expertly cooked. Portions are a good size too. Food is also served in the bar for a more informal meal. We stayed for 2 nights and will definately be going back. One thing that is important to remember though is that this is a pub not a hotel. Having said that, it was much more friendly and informal than a hotel would have been and I wouldnt change that. It's part of its charm. All in all, this place is anything but "hollow" with a wealth of genuine warmth and friendliness and so many things to keep you interested.
