“nothing like a dweep”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

Its just a walk in bamboo forest once you reach so called iland using a bamboo boat and at last you can seat on the rocks in the floating water. thats it. Wildlife part of the dweep is not allowed to be explored. Waste of time.

“Avoid!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

Its hardly an island escape you are looking for, a pathway is fenced and all you do is just walk from one point to another, a mellow & muddy Kabini flows by. It may look exotic to some but we were highly disappointed.

“good place to relax and enjoy in wayanad”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

once you reach kuruva island you cross it via a bamboo raft which is tugged with the help of ropes(similar to the one you read in phantom comics!). nice walk through the forest with birds chirping, small snakes crossing your path for 2kms then you reach the kabini river flowing and get play and enjoy in the clean water.

“novel experience but bamboos and bamboos everywhere ;)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

if u are going from coorg, be prepared to pay road tax.
the name can be a bit misleading. this is not your typical island away from the shore. it's more like a patch of land surrounded by water.
but the 'manual' bamboo boat ride was a very novel experience.
the island is more of a bamboo forest.
go there for nature walk and you wont get disappointed.
any other expectations might disappoint u.
plastics not allowed; so drink/eat before geting on to the boat
50rs ticket is way too expensive i thought

“do not hope much”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

I dreamed as a big island. Small patch of land surrounded by water. The tourism department must have some thing to make it interesting. Parents must take care about small children as chances for missing. The only attraction is the bamboo boat.
