Seeing this resort way down in the rating list, I thought it wise to avoid it. But a friend had made efforts in searching and booking this wonderful piece of land and water intertwined. I was glad we made it.
Kerala roads to the place are single lane, but manageable. The last mile to the resort woke us up, an arduous stretch, perhaps due to rain, but motorable. They should at least level it.
Seagot Banasura is an island sort of resort, tucked away amidst the dense greenery of Kerala, which the Southern state of India is famous for. Covered by water body on three sides and multiple small islands in and around, this resort is actually villa properties for sale. Banasura is the name of the facing mountain with a reservoir of water surrounding small hillocks.
The property is awesome, enhanced because of rains. Yes, sometimes it curtailed our activities, but Kerala is beautiful in rains. Seagot has options for trekking, bamboo rafting, visiting nearby islands, archery, obstacle courses, but generally a very nice place to chill out with bonfire. Place is more natural than done up.
Villas are spacious with a massive living room on top with a huge balcony facing the lake and two bedrooms down, which looked like basement, but again opening out to the lake. Very very liveable. You may need AC during summer, but during our time of late monsoon, it got kind of chilli.
Service is prompt and efficient. Staff are experienced, cordial and non-expecting.
Food is the staple Kerala fare, decent spread and very tasty. Fish and vegetables are fresh.
Everything looked blissful there. A bigger group and lesser rains would have added wonders to the place.
