“Absolutely wonderful place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

We had the best time at Spice garden in Coorg. It was so tranquil and wonderful place in the mornings we could hear the animal and birds sounds. We felt we were in the wild. The food was absolutely wonderful both breakfast and dinner for vegetarians as well for meat lovers. The owners who own this place are great they showed us their coffee estate and also took us on tour to see the spices that they grow there. It felt so good to be back to nature loved everything about coorg but the homestay was just outstanding no other word for it. Thanks Naveen and family for making our stay extra special.

The website of this wonderful 90 acre coffee estate do not do justice to show us how beautiful the property is. This is a nature lovers delight, with exotic plants, trees, birds, insects and yes animals right inside the property. When i visited,it was incessantly raining and i got to see the beauty of the rainforests in the rains. Found wild boars right inside the property and tell tale signs of wild elephants visiting at night to eat their favorite fruits. This is only 5 km away from nagerhole forest by road and 7 -8 kms away from Kalpetta range of wyanad forests, so you get the feel of a forest resort actually. rooms are good, but i personally found the swiss cottage better. Food is excelent to say the least specially the non veg foods. All homemade and fresh. Felt at home. The host and hostess are wonderful people will smiling faces and you get the treatment as their family member only. At the same time the guest rooms are located far from their house ,so you get all your privacy as well. I strongly recommend this place !!

Room Tip: go for the Swiss cottage

Our stay was great in spice garden. The villa is covered with full of spices. First time we are seeing the plants like ginger, pepper trees, jack fruit a good fruit to eat. Awesome smell and tasty. Stay in homestays if ur planning to stay in wayanad. First time when i heard of homestay i even thought of taking a resort, but one of my friend recommended this homestay. Thanks to kalyan, a memmeorable stay in the nature full of trees, a good stream in the downside which helps my kid to play in the water. We cant get this atmosphere, the food was really good, We really enjoyed the stay and wayanad.

when buying spices, and especially, these so called healing property ones, be very careful, to be honest don't buy them there.......
they are way overpriced, they want £70 or more, the rep gets a big cut, from them......
you can buy the same stuff, locally for a fraction of the price like £5

I was with this homestay in September few days. The sevices offered by them were excellent. You get more than you pay. Very courteous host, guided in the right direction. The lunch and dinner provided were homely and remided me of my own home. I do not want to list many things. But the stay was superb.

My wife and i travel to wayanad, kerala, looking for a nice stay and we seen the advertisment for thishomestay and was exactly what we wanted, a home away from home. Both of us felt very welcomed by the owners and they were really great about making sure we had what we needed. When we were shown our room we were taken aback by how homey it was and it was so peaceful. It was quiet away from town and we have a fresh walk on the plantation. I loved the privacy we were giving. The owners made us feel right at home and made sure that we had everything we needed. I will definately be back to this homestay because I love how modern it looked and cozy the rooms were and i had the greatest romantic weekend.
