“Locals know value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013 via mobile

This is not the sort of place I would normally go to but I enjoyed the experience. We arrived at 6.30 after a full day driving in the camper van from St Helen's and just checked into the rather sad Barilla caravan park before a morning flight. The place was full with all tables reserved - a Wednesday night mind you - but after a drink at the bar the very accommodating staff found us a table. Our meals were fresh, generous and tasty - good honest food and plenty of it. I can see why it is a local favourite.

“Great Food, Great Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012

Just got back from a 2 week camping trip around Tasi's East Coast. We were staying in Barilla Holiday Park and saw a lot of cars outside this pub for lunch. Doesn't look much from the outside but the food was great and service was very friendly. We went on a Friday night. Place was full. Kids had a "kid's roast" which was huge and got a free lolly pop. I had one of the best chicken parma's I have ever tasted. Huge meal, nice basic salad and crisp chips. Husband had the same with vegies (cauliflower, carrotts, peas and broccoli) good hearty vegies. We also had cheesy garlic bread (six generous pieces per serve). Would have had dessert (banana fritters) but was just too full! Staff were friendly, prices were usual ($22 for parma). Good mix of choice on the menu from curries to steak to seafood.

“Great Pub Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

They really do Pub Food very well here - menu is extensive, the food is very good and the staff are friendly. Well worth a visit (although it's a shame they are closed on Sunday & Monday)

“Great family value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

Taken the family there a couple of times, and once when a bus load was already in. No probs with service. I ilke a place where they arent afraid to put the kitchen on display, always a good sign they are up to speed. Good value food.

“Make sure you are hungry!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2012

The young owners Matt and Jo have turned a very run down pub into a great pub dining experience. They are always there to ensure your dining experience is a good one. The food ranges from typical pub food, mixed grills, steaks, etc to curries and more unusual, Lambs Fry and Bacon. The menu varies daily.

It is not expensive and the meals are huge. The only drawback is that because it is close to Hobart Airport, it is becoming know by Interstate visitors, so booking before hand is a good idea.
