“Don't forget your oxygen”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2012

We had a great time up the mountain, breathtaking (literally) views at 4506m above sea level, quite an adventure to there too. One tip its worth buying your tin of oxygen - you don't feel as silly as you think when getting the headspins at this altitude.

“Jade Dragon Snow Mountain @ Lijiang, Yunnan”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

It takes three mode of transport to reach to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. A normal bus took us to the gate leading to the park where we queued to take the eco-bus to the foot of the mountain to wait for the cable-car which is located at level of 3,356m. The 2,986m long cable line takes visitors to arrive at the foot of the Glacier Park located at 4,506m. When we arrived at the other top end of the cable-line the temperature dropped to -1.6 degree C. The Glacier Park named "White Water" grows at the height between 4,506m and 4,680m. Hence, we need to climb the steps to reach to the higher end at 4,680m in order to experience the snow at the mountain. We were warned to be conscious of altitude symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, difficulty breathing, headache, chest tightness, palpitation. Some senior tourists need to inhale from oxygen canister to sustain their normal breathing. The view was magnificient. Video taping gave a better effect of the entire scenery.

“The first time I have been to snow mountain”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is the first snow mountian I have visited. I felt extremely excited when arrived there. Take the cable way up, it was so great either saw it from the foot of mountian or stood on the mountain.

The altitude may be around 4000m, I could not remember very clear, but I really had a slight high altitude sickness. Just slow down the pace and speak slowly than the normal speed will be fine.

“Snowfall Lucky”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

There's snowfall when i went to this place, so lucky! because for a person who born in a non snow country like me, it's an amazing thing, they said there's no snowfall in recent days. Its already one year more since my last snowfall day in Beijing.
The place itself have a good view and getting better when snowfall. The wooden trail make it easy to climb. You can buy oxygen up there, but I think its cheaper when you buy it in city before you climb the mountain.
The cable car will take you to the mountain cable car station (around 4400 m) and you can take a walk around 150 M to the highest possible point.

“Should be renamed to "Ultimate queuing experience"”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012 via mobile

Avoid at all cost during peak dates. You'll queue for the ticket into the park; for the ticket for the cable car; for them to stamp a time on your ticket; for the bus to the cable car; for the cable car itself x2 as you have to go down as well.
