It was expensive, surprisingly so, but given it was a Greg Norman course I decided to give it a go. Started off poorly. After accepting a 3pm tee off time, which I was told was plenty of time before the sun went down I waiting to be picked up out the front of Excellence Playa Mujeres. They arrived 45 min late, and had no record of my booking despite me being present when the concierge made the booking over the phone. By the time I got there it was 3:45pm and I realised that I would not have enough time to play 18. No bother I will just play 9. The pro shop attendant could not figure out a green fee for 9 holes! Called her manager who said they would give me credit for the remaining nine holes another day. I asked to be taken back but then she came up with a price, was being overcharged but was keen for a hit so went with it. She was extremely rude and on that alone I would recommend giving this place a miss. Got myself sorted and the pro recommended he back one for the better view....what view. The course is as flat as a pancake and you can't see over the scrub. There was one point where I could glimpse the ocean. The pro was very courteous and the setup was good. Course itself was challenging enough and provided 5 tee off options. Teed off silver and still found it long enough with some nice water hazards along the way. Got back as the sun was going down and they were keen for me to disappear but probable understandable, still a bit unprofessional though.
In short, give this one a miss, the service is appalling and not worth the expense. There is much better in the area.
