“Never tire of this trip to loch Coruisk!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2014

We have been over to loch Coruik many times and thoroughly enjoy the trips. As we are locals on holiday, we wait for a good day! We know Seamus, Anne and family, indeed saw their boys growing up. We love the trip on this family owned boat and our chats with Ann and Seamus. We have had wonderful weather on every trip and have enjoyed the seals and the sheer majesty of the Cuillin hills. This year Ann and Seamus have a new and faster boat which does trips to the Isle of Canna. It was March and a glorious day, so we went on The Canna trip. We loved every minute of it. Canna is beautiful, peaceful and has some great seabirds. We hope to go to the Isle of Rhum, if we are back later this year. Thanks for all the great trips we have had.

“Great afternoon adventure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2014

Lovely friendly family run business, at elgol on the south coast of the isle of skye.

Don't let the long winding B road approach put you off, but give yourself plenty of time - it's half an hour well spent looking at amazing views and leads to a great day out.

We booked the adventure ariund the coastline to loch coruisk, a three hours round trip with about 90 mins (on land) exploring time.

Personal and helpful welcome by anne at the ticket office, guide James and skipper Seumas were both friendly and informative and entertained us well with stories and legends of the area. We managed to get fairly close to a colony of seals and got some amazing photographs.

Upon dry land again, The hills surrounding Loch Coruisk formed the basis of our exploration and photography - some great rock formations. Probably should explain that loch coruisk is still on skye but is very difficult to access via the land with no real road access.

The return trip saw the complimentary drinks and biscuits served which brought smiles to all faces.

We enjoyed great weather for our trip, and would advise a quick weather check as I'm sure this could dampen some young spirits.

No chance of our boys spirits being dampened though as Seumas invited him to take the helm for the last few minutes of the trip.

Keep up the great work guys and the family ethos, its what makes this a special experience and sets it apart from the rest!

“So awesome, We did this trip twice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2014

The first time we came upon this while touring around Skye, we managed to get tickets in time for the last trip of the day. We were so not prepared for the terrain of the Cullins. On arrival to Loch Coruisk we were treated to up close viewing of seals. We did trek around in the wrong shoes and last minute collection of scarves and sweaters. On our return trip the following year, we came prepared, packed a lunch and spent several hours hiking with proper footwear, rain jackets, layered clothing, camera, and binoculars. We had a spectacular day again, and felt like we had the place to ourselves despite having shared the boat with many others on the way there. The family that run this boat company are fantastic people and ensure your time spent with them is memorable. On our way back at the end of the day there was a traffic jam of fishing boats returning with the days catch and while they unloaded the days work, we were taken down the loch a wee bit and shown the cave where Bonnie Prince Charles hid. Arriving back at Elgol we respectfully waited in cue for the fisherman to finish their work. No one seemed to mind the delay. The best traffic jam we have ever been in. And Thanks to the great crew who made our day so very special. We hope to be back this year .

“Simply stunning ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2013

Decided to have a wee drive to Elgol today and was delighted to see the Misty Isles have started to do boat trips all year round. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. The lady owner (Anne i think her name was) even let me borrow her scarf. Seumas took us over to Loch Coruisk and told us to take as long as we liked. On our return to the boat we were offered a hot drink and a biscuit. The views from the boat and Loch Coruisk itself were just simply stunning. I highly recommend this trip.

“Unexpected Pleasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

We had visited Elgol purely to take some pictures of The Black Cuilins and were not even aware of the boat trip on offer. We are so glad that we decided to board the Misty Isle and were soon on our way for an Up Close & Personal visit. The brooding Cuillins were only enhanced by the cloud covering the tops which made for a very atmospheric visit. Both James and Seamus were great hosts keeping everyone informed of the beautiful scenery all around.

A MUST do for any visit
