“Friendly staff! Love the food.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

It was under construction and you can hear the noise when we spend time in pool. Deluxe villa is soooo small so we up grade to Sala villa in our own cost. Sala villa is great but there are other better choices in Phuket with the same price, however the staffs are extremely friendly just like other Anantara. People is the most important reason that we choice to stay Anantara again and again while we travel. We received little cake and chocolates from bar manager after he realized it was our second honey moon, how sweet! Restaurants are good, love the food.

Room Tip: Stay in sala villa instead of deluxe villa if have budget

The worse thing about this resort is that there will be the day you have to check out and that is a reason to be more than sad. We expect a lot from a 5 star resort but we have never been to such a great place ever where all our expectations were exceeded. It starts with the best breakfast we experienced in all our years of travel. You so much want to get up in the morning just to make sure you enjoy every single minute of this truly gourmet experience. The environment is so peaceful and relaxing at our luxurious Pool Villa can most probably not be toped by any other resort. Carla took care of us all week and made sure we would not miss anything. We loved her local recommendations she really knows how to keep a guest happy. Chef Umberto was never tired of us, we asked him for so many specials and as if he would be a mind reader the outcome of his creative culinary artworks were always so much better than even anticipated. The SPA is so unique and the massages we enjoyed we would rate 10 on a list of 1 to 10. The resort itself is spotted into one of the beautiful corners of Phuket a tropical paradise. We cannot thank the whole resort team enough for making our vacation so special and wonderful. As sad we were we had to leave as happy we are thinking about going back this winter for another wonderful week, hopefully time goes by fast enough.

Dear Guest,

Wow - The best Resort Experience ever...

It is our goal every day to create memorable experiences for all our guests and the team works hard to achieve this. So of course when we get to read that we have not only achieved this but exceeded it we are even more motivated to always do more.
We have amazing associates; Carla and Chef Umberto are great Ambassadors of Anantara Phuket Layan Resort & Spa and they join me in thanking you for staying with us and sharing your fabulous feedback.

Unfortunately there is always a time to leave, but no need to feel sad, time flies and winter will be here soon. We look forward to welcome you back to your home in Paradise.

Warmest regards,

Andy Kunz

◾ the service we experienced was very good
◾the room was also nice, clean and large enough; bathrooms are very spacious
◾the location is ideal for those who prefer a quiet surrounding. There are no Shops, Restaurants, bars nearby you always have to use a taxi; unfortunately there was no shuttle bus from the Hotel.
What was disappointing for us was the limited Swimming-possibilities in the sea. you can only swim during high Tide and most of the time we had low Tide.
Also be informed that they have consctruction works during the day.

Dear Elfriede B,

Thank you for sharing your experience at Anantara Phuket Layan Resort & Spa. We appreciate your comments. Our resort is indeed located in a very quiet spot on the Island at the edge of a beautiful and shallow bay which gets affected by the tides.

Above our resort we are developing some stunning private Residences and we expect the closest ones to the resort to be finished by April. We will be able to reveal them soon as an exclusive option for discerning guests visiting Phuket.

We hope to see you again here in Paradise.

Sincerely,

Andy Kunz

On our arrival we were greeted with smiles and a genuine welcome. The resort manager, Carla, met us in the expansive lobby and showed us to our villa and an alternative if we required. Over the week Carla has warmly, together with her many staff, looked after our every need and we congratulate her for the smooth and efficient way this resort ticks over. Our large sea view villa is around two years old and came as a complete surprise in all respects. With every conceivable amenity, very comfortable and extremely quiet, the villa is perfect. The sea beach view is superb but the tide affects the beach to an extent that loses its appeal. The buffet breakfast is the best we have ever experienced in all our travel years and the Thai restaurant an amazing experience . Staff address us by name and always remember our villa number. We will return.

I and my partner live in Dubai where hotel and service standards are international. Believe us when we say that Anantara has broken these standards!! They have demonstrated a service we haven't been given anywhere else we've been to!

We stayed there for 7 nights and my birthday has lied in the middle of the stay. Here are few things they surprised us with:

- They have figured out my birthday through my passport. When my partner called them to arrange a surprising birthday cake, they told her it's already been arranged!!

- I have decided to propose to my partner on my birthday, who apparently said Yes ;) and i have informed them on the same day and they just made it happened with flying colours! a private BBQ dinner by the beach with a magnificent settings, a chef and a butler at your demand! food was marvelous! wasn't a better way to propose with classic music on! The butler didn't about the proposal but he managed to video record the best moment of our lives! this is how smart they are and happy to see you happy!

- While we're dinning, we have requested a dessert which wasnt in the food menu, took them 5 min to make our specia request and transfer it from a different kitchen to the restaurant we dinned at.

- Rooms: clean and lovely

- Staff: extremely happy and cooperative

- Location: exclusive and ideal spot for couples/honeymooners. Family with children and bachelors might need to look for another hotel

- Ambience: marvelous

Constructions: Probably a lot of people talked about this. Although am a light sleeper, I have been annoyed with any kind of noises! at all! In fact, the only time i woke up, was on a kitten meowing

- Try dine-on-deman, worth every cent

- They provide free bicycles, paddle boarding and kayaking.

- They provide buggies on demand, with fast and friendly manners!

- The resort is a bit over priced, for instance a Swedish massage costs USD160, but again, worth every cent paid

- For fishing lovers, dont waste your money! it's really expensive and you may end up catching few pictures on sunset. If you insist, don't take the big wooden boat which costs USD1210, it's a total waste of money!!! take hours to reach to fish farms and hours to come back where you may not catch a single fish! take the fast boat which costs USD 2100.

- Go to nikki beach next door, ideally on Sunday!!

- Transportation is the only downside of the hotel. For such an excellent hotel, they should have provided transportation from/to the airport, taking in consideration the short distance from and to the airport. Also, shuttles to close areas since the hotel is a bit isolated!

- The hotel can arrange your sightseeing trips. We advise to google and search before booking your trips.

- Stay away from Patong area, an hour drive to a dodgy area!

On checking into this hotel you are not quite sure what you are going to get. But once you see the room and the views you can see why this hotel has appeal. Set on the beach, it is a place to unwind and chill out. Both restaurants have excellent food and service. A special praise to the Thai restaurant, which is set on the hill overlooking the bay. Food is stunning and has nice touches through your experience.
The spa also set on the hills was fabulous, the quality of the treatment and the entire experience was one of the best I have ever experienced.
Really great to see senior management always around chatting to guests, controlling quality, it really makes a difference, thank you.

We found this hotel by chance since in the hotel we have chosen first was a viral child disease going around and we did not want to expose our kids. We planned to stay for 2 night but prolonged the stay for 3 nights more because we liked this hotel so much.

This hotel is an oasis on an island that has been overwhelmed by mass tourism, especially by Russians.

It is located far from crowds on a nice beach with stunning sunset views.
We stayed in a pool villa and we loved it. The room was spacious, designed in Thai style and very private.

The service in the hotel is amazing. Most of the staff speak decent English and is extremely helpful. There are many small things you will appreciate as complimentary sun cream and after sun lotion, medical boxes at the pool, little sweets served for kids before bed time, coffee machine in the rooms…we really appreciated it. And we loved the breakfast, the choice was great especially if you prefer fresh and healthy eating.

This is not a family oriented hotel but the kids were welcome and the kids club was very nice, our kids (3 and 5y y. old) liked it very much. The enjoyed the daily marshmallow barbecue at the beach very much, it was a great highlight for them every day.

As mentioned, the hotel is far from village and you have to take a taxi to go either in the Lagoon or to Bangtao. There is literally nothing in walking distance which is good and bad at the same time.

Since the taxi prices are incredible high in Phuket (in comparison to other locations) it was almost cheaper to eat in the hotel restaurants. The Thai restaurant was very nice, the food was fantastic. The Italian restaurant was nice too, but we ended up paying almost 1000 bahts for 3 bottles of water and that is just extremely overpriced (they served Italian water Acqua panna. The drinking water is everywhere in the hotel complimentary, so this was just ridiculous.)
The in-room dining was priced very reasonably and the food was very good.

The beach at the hotel is not suitable for swimming but you can walk to a near beach in 20-30 minutes, however, not with kids because there is a creek you have to wade through.

Internet (wifi) was working very welll everywhere in the hotel.

We do not plan to go back to Phuket but if we did we would stay here again.
