“5 Star All The Way!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2010

From the cool towel and drink at check in to the wonderful roomy suites this has to be one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.

The staff are extremely helpful, nothing is ever a problem, always helping you with a smile! Check in was hassle free. A quick explanation of the facilities offered, a cool drink and face towell and then into the shuttle to your room.

We stayed in the delux sea view room which was extremely spacious. A good size living room and bedroom and then an enormous bathroom. Outside were some very comfy sun beds and an outdoor pool/spa. The views across to the sea were amazing. The cool water in outdoor pool/spa was heaven during the hot days!!

The beach is only a 5 minute walk and if you are feeling lazy (or the heat has gotten to you) you can take the hotel shuttle. Lots of beach chairs and beds to choose from. The beach is beautiful, and I'm not sure what other reviewers are saying about the beach being dirty, we found it as clean as any beach here in Australia.

The hotel pool is nice, only downfall is that it's atttached to the restaurant and that might put some people off. Happy hour provides cheap drinks and cocktails and sitting beside the pool of an afternoon is a great way to see out the day.

Room service was top class at a great price. The free breakfasts were fantastic, plenty of foods to choose from. The hotel spa was used quite a lot by my partner and she was extremely happy with the massages/facials etc, again very well priced.

Only downside of the hotel (and this didn't bother me at all) was that my partner thought the bed to bit a little firm. I quite enjoyed the walk up to the room after breakfast, all the 150 stairs!! If you didn't like to walk you could always use the hotel shuttle.

Would I stay here again... Definitely!! Hopefully sooner than later..

I fully agree with the contribution of Marth01. We booked 13 nights due to the outstanding ratings. I dont' want to go into details but our stay did not meet the reviews of the Tripadvisor community. We have the reason to believe that something isn't quite right with the reviews.

We enjoyed our wonderful stay in the hotel, by Far the best Suites in Phuket.

Negatives: First the distance to the beach, fortunately the Hotel provides free shuttle to and from the beach up to 6pm. Second is the climb up to the room, again the Hotel provide free shuttle, but don’t count on these shuttles during check out time, high demand of shuttles are expected. Lastly are the mosquitoes.

Positives: Extra Large Suites, we stayed at the Super Deluxe Suite. If you are super rich or Honeymooners suggest go ahead with the most Exclusive Pool Villa (best view and 300% more expensive), otherwise, Super Deluxe has the best view among other Suites in the house. There is one Suite located right above our Suites #809 (maybe 810 / 811). This room surely has better view than 809, try to request for this one! You wont regret it if you are into best view at reasonable price.

Breakfast is fantastic and the Hotel Restaurant has very good food. Be advised all the nearby restaurants especially in the Surin seaside are overpriced and are lousy compared to restaurants in Patong & Kata. Ayara have good value of set menus, we ended up ordering more room service, while enjoying the fantastic suite.

I booked Ayara Hilltops after reading some of the reviews here on TA and it met and exceeded all my expectations. Everything from check in to check out was fantastic. The only small fault was lack of english skills amongst some of the staff. The buggy service from suite to reception or to the beach was excellent and "their" beach club Stereo Lab was good as well. They also have two happy hours (16-18 an 22-23) at the bar offering two drinks for the price of one, and they make and bring you the second one when they see you are almost empty with your first glass so that it does not become warm in the sun. So considerate of them :)

We booked a Deluxe Sea View Suite for three nights threw booking.com and got a great deal. The suite was spacious and the bed excellent!! So was the shower (rainfall) and tub in the bathroom. The jacuzzi (with only cold water, but seriously who needs warm water outside in Phuket??) was great for chilling down in, while sun bathing on our own two sun beds on our own porch with STUNNING views of the Andaman sea.

In fact we were so happy with our stay that we just booked 12 more nights with them for our fall vacation in October, this time threw their own page:)

Went for a long weekend from Hong Kong in April. The room, view and especially the staff are exceptional. Very reasonably priced given the quality. Would easily recommend to others looking to get away from it all.

Stayed at the resort as part of our honeymoon travels and to enjoy the Thai new year festival. {Songkran} The resort is absolutely beautiful, with gorgeous landscaping and breathtaking views. We booked a Grand Delux Sea View Suite and were not disappointed. The suite was huge with the sexiest outoor shower and whirlpool and yes the whirlpool is not heated but when it is 95 degrees (35 celcius) a cool refreshing whirlpool is perfect. The staff was extremely friendly and accomodating and the buggy service spot on. The restaurant was great (going to really miss the fresh guava juice). We're already looking into returning for Christmas holiday.

The only problem I have with the actual resort is that it is not directly on the beach and the beach that it is near, is relatively busy in the sense that the entire beach is lined with sunbeds about 4 rows deep (it is busy and not pretty or relaxing). Their beach access by buggy and the beach club restaurant is good, but beware, the sun umbrellas are not made of thick material, thus allowing some UV rays to get through-nothing sun cream won't block, but as a result, it gets awfully hot, even if you are shaded. Also, the beach boys absolutely refuse to give you more than 1 umbrella, even if no one else is using the others. Aside from setting up your umbrella, there is no service by the sun beds, so if you want a drink or snack you have to go to the bar. I think it is an entirely separate business, where Ayara rents sunbeds from the owner. It would be great if Ayara could improve their services at the beach, because I believe this is the only part of this resort that is not up to standard. Otherwise, the actual resort facilites and staff are fantastic. If you are not that bothered by the beach position, then this is the place to go for a good price. BTW, you can negotiate for private taxis - one guy offered us 700 baht for an entire day, wherever we wanted to go. The taxi stand across the road offers 500 baht for a one-way ride to Patong!
