“Absolutely Top Notch!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW via mobile

We stayed at The Outrigger Laguna Phuket Resort for 10 nights from Jan 10th 2015. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay! From the moment we arrived until the time we sadly departed, we thoroughly enjoyed our entire stay. The pool with the waterslide is fantastic & a big hit with the kids & adults alike. The beach was very clean & great water sports on offer. The staff bend over backwards to make sure you are happy & if something was brought to their attention that wasn't quite right, they corrected it straight away. We had two interconnecting club deluxe lagoon rooms (king bed in one for the adults & two king singles in the other for our 11 & 13 year olds). The rooms were very spacious indeed & the beds were absolutely heavenly. We used the laundry service twice which was excellent & very prompt. I would recommend spending a bit extra to get the club rooms which include brekkie in the club, all day non alcoholic drinks & snacks & happy hour from 6-7.30pm which includes the chef's tasting plate. They are very generous with drink & food top ups as well. Of course Candy the baby elephant visits twice per day & she is so adorable the kids loved her special hugs & kisses! Staff to mention in particular are Bank, Eck & Hana but they are all wonderful & a real credit to the resort. Thanks you for the wonderful memories, we will definitely be back!!

we had a premium seafront room with a stunning view. The sunsets watched from the small balcony are more then stunning. The room is very nice, the beds are excellent! The bathroom is small, but everything you need for a nice holiday s there. The pool is nice, there are enough deckchairs and towels.Unfortunatelly some people take the beach towels to their romm and put them on the best saets early next morning.
Happy hour from 5 to 7 pm is nice as the prices are relatively high.We had all our meals in the hotel and were never disappointed.
Check in was a bit unpleasant as our room was not ready and we were told to wait for about one hour.I said no problem so we can have lunch .I asked for my room number and was told that it was not yet sure.. I thought that was funny.
Check out quick and without problem. I had something on my bill from the minibar which we did not use and that was cancelled immediatelly.
The beach is fantastic, clean and safe.
The Outrigger is a family hotel so noise is unavoidable.

Room Tip: premium seafront rooms are certainly the best

Great place for a family holiday. Clean beach with access to exclusive water sports. Very kids friendly environment, pool with a waterside!
Strongly recommend to visit this property in a group or with kids.
Maybe a bit pricey for some, but it's 5 star.
Lagoon area is perfect for a 2-3 day stay, would recommend part of the vacation at Patong too... just to experience the hustle bustle too within a short walk from a quiet hotel (some really upmarket hotels there too).

We stayed here for 2 nights with our 2 kids - 7yo & 3yo. More than enough space for all of us in one room without having to even ask for extra bed! Lovely view from the room (we took sea-facing.)

Pool was gorgeous, the shops nearby the beach sold cheap bbq corn, mangoes and papayas which they will cut for you, and you can eat poolside. The pool slide is a bit fast and tiny bit dangerous, I tore my bathing suit sleeve off while going down!

Perhaps the hotel is too used to getting non-Asian guests, because I saw that the Asian guests weren't treated as fawningly as the non-Asians were... lol! However the staff at the kids' playroom were SO lovely, can't highlight that enough. Very attentive to the kids and you could tell they just adore playing with kids - it's not just a job to them.

To conservative guests, you might want to avoid the beach ... lots of topless ladies walking around.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the ocean are quite a distance away from the lobby, so prepare for a good walk.

After having spent a fantastic and highly relaxing 6 nights in an unbelievably stunning hotel in Koh Samui we felt like we came back down to Earth with a thud when we arrived at this hotel. Yes, the entrance area is nice, the welcome was okay, but then came the first disappointment - our lagoon facing rooms faced a huge building site across the lagoon - not the hotels fault, but not good. The rooms were spacious, but felt dark and the balconies were tiny. A make over might be in order too. But the worst for us were the super busy and noisy pool areas. There just didn't seem to be any quiet relaxing corners anywhere at all. Add to that the fact that loungers and umbrellas are no longer allowed on the beach - again of course not the hotel's fault - and all of a sudden loungers are just crowded everywhere on the grassed area in a very disorganised fashion too, as there are not enough umbrellas, so people are trying to find shady areas under the trees wherever they can. There is absolutely no service around the pool areas either - fetch your own (old and stained!) towels, fetch your own drinks, no one walking around taking order.... And all that combined with constant noise of small children... Even our teenagers said that if was hard to relax. Speaking of which - there was big enough on offer for teenagers - not enough free water sports activities, no table tennis etc - the pool/billiard room (which was a) not nice and b) located in a dark dingy basement) was locked at 9:00pm.
The food on offer was also mediocre - especially at breakfast time, limited fruit and stale pastries. The club room breakfast was a tad better and their afternoon teas were quiet nice too, plus the club room was quiet nice too.

Overall I would say - if you don't mind staying in a fairly impersonal large hotel with a lot of noisy children, then you might like this hotel. If you prefer personalised exceptional service, sophistication and peace and quiet stay away!

Dear MissTP46,

Thank-you for choosing the Outrigger Laguna Phuket as part of your recent holiday in Thailand.
I was very sorry to read that your stay was a disappointing one and that we did not live up to the expectations of you and your family. We work hard to deliver friendly and efficient service to all our guests and as such to have failed you in this regard is certainly not something we are proud of. While the resort was completely renovated in 2013, I do understand and respect that design and taste are a very personal matter and am sorry that you did not like several aspects of the property. I was also sorry to read that you felt the breakfast pastries were not fresh and will certainly look into this as we do bake our pastries from scratch in our bakery prior to breakfast.
I would like to again apologize for the fact that your stay fell short of your expectations and would like to thank-you for taking the time to share your feedback.
With very best regards
Tony Pedroni

P.S. May I respectfully point out for the benefit of other readers that beach activities, such as windsurfing, kayaks, paddle boards, Hobbies, beach tennis and volleyball courts are complimentary to our guests. Our tennis, squash and badminton courts plus archery range are also complimentary.

Having stayed at various other hotels in the same area, Outrigger is easily on of the best. Very new hotel with extremely friendly staff. Everything you could want from a Phuket beach resort. Go for a sea facing room.

Room Tip: Sea Facing Room.

Landed on the 30th, celebrated New Years @ Locavore which had a lavish buffet. The resort was worth the price I paid. We had 2 rooms for my family. Food & drinks variety is quite ample & tasty, personally I prefer more variety since I stayed for almost 10 days. Staff were very friendly, housekeeping was exceptionally good.
I selected this resort since it had a professional tennis trainer & good courts. James Corin, the Dir of Tennis was excellent & gave me some pointers. We managed to squeeze in a few lessons during my stay. The pool had a slide which we all slid many a times.
Beach is bang outside the pool area & I drove the Jet Skis a few times. The Metzo's Bistro spread was exquisite. On the whole, the vacation was all that we expected & ofcourse the rooms were quite spacious & comfortable. Thank you Outrigger & Team. Happy New Year to all.

Room Tip: If you love Tennis, this is the place to be. You can get to shoot hoops if you love Basketball as we...
