“Wonderful Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2014

We visited this hotel in December, This is a place that makes you smile its infectious every member of staff met us with a smile, catered to our every wish and remembered all our favorite food and drinks. The rooms are very spacious and well equipped and the housekeeping is spot on the toiletries are replenished daily as is bottled water tea and coffee. Every evening when we returned to our room we had been left a small gift which was lovely.
We used the hotels restaurants which were very good and reasonably price, as well as some of the local ones (Tatonga and The Black Cat ) both of which collected us from our hotel and drove us back at the end of the evening, both of these restaurants were extremely good value with an extensive menu and lovey food, we also visited other restaurants at the hotels within the Laguna Resort (Dusit and Banyan Tree) these were a little pricey but the food was good and the service excellent. Along with the vast choice at breakfast every morning we did not have one bad meal in the 10 days we were there.
The complex is vast but there are plenty of shuttles to take you where you want to go theres also the laguna ferry which runs about every 20 minutes. The hotel has loads of activities and a shopping village.Taxis are plentiful and cheap we took one down to Patong Night Market and agreed a price before we left the hotel the taxi driver waited for us and brought us back 3 hours later.
We spent every day on the beach which is clean and well catered for by the locals drinks, food and massages. You can walk for miles, swim in the warm sea or laze on your comfy sunbed totally bliss.
Theres even a young elephant who visits everyday at breakfast and loves his doughnuts his name is Nun Chuck and hes adorable it broke my heart to leave him we became great friends.
On the day we were due to fly home I was ill nothing serious just a tummy bug but a little scary when you,ve got a pending flight. The hotel was wonderful they gave us a late check out free of charge and advised me to visit the Medical Center which is located at the shopping village, within the hour I,d been seen by 2 nurses and a doctor given antibiotics and re-hydrating drinks by the time I boarded the plane I felt 100% better.
The hotels service was first class even after we returned home, when we arrived home there was a email waiting for us from the hotel my husband had left a pair of socks in a draw and they wanted to know if we wanted them to return them to us.
Highly Recommended a hotel of smiles !

Dear karendak,

Thank you for taking the time to write about your recent holiday experience at our resort.

It was very nice to read how much you enjoyed your time with us. I wish to thank you in particular for highlighting the genuine Thai hospitality of our staff. It is feedback such as yours that continually motivates us to exceed the expectations of our guests.

I was also glad to hear that the late-check out and good care of the medical assistants at the Canal Village Clinic allowed you to have a worry-free journey back home.

We would be delighted to have you back as our guest in the near future, and to provide you with another unforgettable stay.

Kind regards,

We stayed at Angsana with two of our sons and their children aged 6, 3 and 20months.We had a wonderful time.
The kids were more than adequately catered for, the service was amazing, and the rooms were big and well stocked with everything one could possibly want.
The staff were all so helpful and friendly. The room service was excellent, and the rooms were serviced as soon as one left them.
Of course the kids loved Lucky the elephant and waited expectantly each day to see him.
Our private day tour to an island was so well organized.
Thank you to the management and all the staff for a super time

Excellent services and location. We were in a very comfortable VILLA with 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 1 living room, 1 patio and 1 terrace on the laguna: more than is descripted in the website as "2 bedrooms loft"! Large breakfast and large happy hour reserved to us!

Room Tip: Villa (2 bedrooms, living, patio)

From the moment our taxi arrived from the airport to the day we left we were treated like royalty. From front-of-house to the gardeners who keep the paths and lawns immaculate, everyone treats you with warm respect and friendly smiles that make you feel really special. And any hotel that can take the chore of check-in and turn it into a ceremony of welcome must make it to the top of your hot list. Service is 5 star ++. Simply amazing.
Example: it was my wife's birthday while we were there and though we didn't tell anyone, someone in reception had noticed it from our check in details. A birthday cake was waiting for her in our room. Just one example of the attention to detail that made this holiday absolutely superb.

Tip: before booking with an agent, check out the hotel's website to determine what room you want and be very clear to specify that type. For example, the Laguna rooms are in the middle of the complex, making them ideal if you like to be in the centre of things. However that could make them noisier than you might wish. If so, upgrade to the Laguna Grand rooms which are at the quieter end of the complex. If you love swimming, some ground floor poolside rooms have verandas with private steps leading directly into the pool.
Though not cheap (this is 5 star after all) the restaurants represent good value for money. For example one restaurant (there are 5 on site) offers an evening buffet that has the widest choice of foods that I have ever seen; it includes things like crayfish, sushi, oysters (!!!) salads, Italian cuisine, Thai cuisine and on and on.
The sister hotels around the lagoon can be reached by free ferry service, making the choice of on site restaurants even wider. And if you want something simpler stroll down to the palm tree lined beach to find beach bars and cafés that serve incredible food and cheap drinks. And while you're there you could get a massage and even have a suit made to measure within 2 days!
Nearby facilities include golf, horse riding on the beach, jet boats, elephant rides and paragliding. The hotel can book you excursions and one tip is to pay the extra supplement to include a pick up and return service to and from the hotel.

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in and I would not hesitate to commend it to anyone.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2014

the hotel is very nice and recently refurbished. we had what i think was a standard room, king size bed with additional day kinda bed/corner lounge and balcony. All nicely done, bathroom had a sunken shower/bath which my 2 year old son enjoyed playing in. one complaint about the room was that the aircon is kinda loud, i asked to change rooms and when i checked out the other room the aircon in there was just as noisy, cant ustand why hotels dont get decent quiet aircon in these places or at least replace them once in a while. other than that the hotel has bang tao beach out the front which is nice and quiter than somewhere like patong or surin. pool was fantastic, can follow it around for some distance which my son enjoyed. the other guests can be an issue though, mainland chinese walking up to the pool and washing their shoes in the pool like its a sink, and then again with the russians at the breakfast buffet, seems that when they are eating at the breakfast buffet that none of them had ever seen food for months, lots of pushing into lines, piling plates to over flow. this is to be experienced at most resorts in phuket though and i guess many other places in seasia as more and more chinese/russians etc travel and are unaware of western beahviours EG manners.last few points, room service is a rip off, restaurants in resort madly expensive since you are stuck in the resort, so catch the courtesy bus to exit laguna then walk into the local restaurants/shops

Room Tip: laguna room or club room are nice enuff, probably not worth the money for the pool access room.lagun...

For our annual family holiday we stayed 5 nights in Angsana Laguna Phuket in end december thru the new year we had our 2 kids accompany us after reading the review in TA we had selected this hotel as it looked most kid friendly and believe me it was the best family resort we have stayed in!.

on arrival in phuket airport after collecting the bags we proceed to Laguna Phuket Airport Hospitality Centre were we were promptly guided to our van to whisked to the hotel effortless,

upon arrival to hotel we were taken to our room and completed our check in formality in our room,
we had booked Angsana Suite it was huge over a single level living, dining area and two bedrooms had King and Twin-bedding which was very comfortable for our family also small kitchen with micro way oven .

since we were in suite we could have club breakfast at Bodega & Grill and daily evening cocktails at Loy Krathong Bar.

the resort is huge with waterways with lawns and canals and have activities like canoeing, sailing, many pools for toddler’s “tub”, artificial beach (kids loved it), “lazy river”, jet pools and kids activity zone to keep both adults and kids busy alike. the hotel is easily accessed by unlimited use of shuttle boats and buses to any 9 hotels that is integrated with in the resort were you can dine in any of 30 restaurants and bars and charged back to your room account from any hotel outlet so you wont need to repeat dinning in the same restaurant .we had dinner at Saffron & Water-court (amazing seafood )located in Banyan Tree and runen thai (amazing thai food) located in Dusit Thani and XANA beach club all these restaurants was truly world class and kid friendly but only let down was banTalay the food and service was slow and rubbish.

we had wonderful time in the beach in the evenings and also on the new year night were we watched amazing fire works and the beautiful floating lanterns all over the sky an amazing sight ….beautiful way to start the new year!!!!.
we will be back soon…..
