“Nice food & good service, owners ego a bit much to take...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2013

This place is certainly unique & one gets the impression goes out of its way to be different to the other Bang Tao offerings with its over the top decor. The food was excellent and full credit to the hardworking Nok & her considerable culinary skills. The other half of the team her husband Joe, meanwhile seems content to swan around his kingdom impressing visitors with his life story while Nok slaves in the kitchen. Live music most nights is entertaining, and if you can avoid being cornered by the guy in the cowboy hat, you'll probably enjoy your visit.

“Wonderful story to accompany the wonderful food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013

A great find just off the beach. This place came recommended by my parents for the atmosphere and it certainly didn't disappoint! Very unique space built by Joe. Was there for a late lunch, so we missed the buffet and cabaret - but we had Joe all to ourselves and he was fantastic to chat with about how he ended up in Thailand, building in Canada, and ice hockey at the Olympics.

The food was great, first time trying Massaman Curry which became a staple through my trip and few were as good as at Nox and Joe's.

But the real clincher was the story of how Joe (a Canadian) ended up in Thailand to help with the tsunami relief and fell in love with Nox (who is the chef). Together they have created a unique experience to accompany good food.

“A Great Friendly Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2013

We have been to Nok & Jo's on different nights and found the food really good, Jo welcomes everyone, service is excellent there's nothing that's too much trouble for the waiters.
The food is Thai or European so there's something for everyone, and reasonably priced compared to lots of places in Bang Tao.
The music is what you make of it, it's live and there's always a free Mic. if anyone wants to give a song or two themselves, while we have used the bar all ages have got up and sang and played guitar.
It's well worth a visit, the Cabaret show is good and entertaining

“Poor”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013

After reading previous reviews we decided to visit this place but were not at all impressed.

Depressing music, overpriced and over-rated food which was typical 'for the foreigner' thai food which lacked any real taste. For seasoned travellers to Thailand you already know that you will receive much tastier food from the smaller thai places. Would suit anyone over a certain age who was unable to carry on walking to the next restaurant and the music would suit them too. Also got the feeling that I should have been 'impressed' by the Canadian owner who seems to enjoy swanning around fishing for compliments.

New visitors to Thailand may like it here but I would not return.
