“Great Resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2013 via mobile

Stayed for 4 days, wanted to stay another 5! Classy resort, wonderful service, nice touches. i.e. wake up call comes with pot of hot coffee-awesome.
the baby elephant walking around beach is nice touch. the very inexpensive massages at the beach were great. we had two a day.
downside is its remoteness. everything is a long and expensive taxi ride especially from resort. there is a sort of a taxi mafia with 'set' rates to the rest of the island. the return trip fares from big resort areas was always about half. it's part of the whole experience so you just have to take it with a sense of humor.
other tip: the tour prices from the excursion desk are verrry expensive. take a trip to patong beach first and book the exact same tour from tour booths in Patong for less than third of price.
bottom line is that everything is negotiable...start at 1/4 of what they ask and walk away, there will always be 14 other people offering the same thing.

frankly the rest of Phuket is kind of seedy and less intreguing than we imagined. i.e. the crush of 'sexy' massage hawkers gets old.
the resort on the other hand is all that we imagined. next time we might never leave the property

This is a great hotel when you travel with kids. My 11 years old son enjoyed taking part of beach soccer games with other kids of his age under the supervision of a hotel trainer. In the meanwhile I was having a great massage at the spa...

Have your ever been to a business conference in a resort and then think wow there are far too many happy romantic couples walking around. Well although this hotel is greated suitaed for business conferences and has all the mod-cons to make this happens from large conference halls to break-out meeting rooms, I would recommend this hotel for a Thai get-a-way week in great luxury. The open air layout, with bars, restaurants and secluded beach makes it the ideal place for a romantic soothing holiday. The room are spacious, albeit a little walk to the reception but the rooms are private and have great views of the lush greenery.

The staff are perfect and absolutely helpful in every aspect. Breakfast, indoors or outside is magnificent. The beach and pool are both fantastic, its a resort yu really dont need to leave and can spend a full week in bliss.

Stayed here for 4 nights last November. The hotel was wonderful. Breakfast one of the best i've had in any hotel. Our room was truly special. It was only a garden view but had a great lounge area where you could relax, and a balcony. Great pool and I loved the elephant that walked through the property frolicking in the ocean and being fed by the guests.

Looks like we're going to get Marriotted again. Showed up at the hotel in Phuket this evening after a full day of travel from Europe. The front desk tells us that our reservation started the prior night according to their system. We logged on to Marriott's own website, where our reservation had been booked, and showed them that the reservation correctly started this evening - not yesterday. Based on this proof, they apparently have chosen not to bill us for last night. After we get that all squared away, they tell us that our room is not ready. Um, we arrived at 7pm and the room isn't ready? Fortunately we have gold status with Marriott, otherwise we probably would have been told to go stay in the janitorial supply room. After waiting around for a while in the open 90 degree farenheit lobby, they finally took us to the room. After a few minutes we noticed that the front desk had forgot to hand us our passports. So, then we started down that road of repair. Why they needed our passports is beyond me. It can't be for security, because they leave the copies of everyone's passports sitting out all over their front desk workstations. In the meantime, they offered us complimentary beverages and brought a fruit basket to the room as a thank you for spending more than 50 nights a year dealing with the same hassles over and over again. Marriott, please keep your fruit baskets and complimentary beverages, and instead focus on having your rooms ready and not screwing up our reservations! Thanks.

The Breakfast was Excellent...The juices and fruiys were fresh.....The hotel was full but it never seemed like there were a lot of people....The name JW Marriott lived upto its standard...Its a little far from Patong that was the only flaw

We stayed here 8 nights while on honeymoon. It was exactly what we were looking for. Very clean, quiet, luxurious and relaxing. We also stayed in Patong for a night to do some shopping and check out the scene and were very unimpressed. Very dirty and most of the shopping is just knock off stuff which is fun for a while but everyone is selling the exact same stuff. But i digress. The JW Marriott is spotlessly clean...and that is the same for the beach as well. Completely uncrowned beach with complimentary kayaking, sailing, etc. the staff is very friendly, and most speak English well. Room was very spacious, although not a very private bathroom. Restaurants onsite are absolutely amazing, specifically we loved Kabuki (sushi/Japanese) and Ginja (Thai). Downside is that it is not close to all the nightlife and cheap shopping, but short drive to airport. We saw plenty of young families enjoying there stay with lots of activities to keep kids entertained including a couple of baby (or small at least) elephants.

I would highly recommend this hotel for families and couples looking for generally quiet relaxation / romantic feel. It is on the high end of cost spectrum for Phuket, but not nearly as much as USA/ EU JW Marriott. To us, it was an unforgettable trip with tons of relaxation. Wouldn't recommend if your looking for the nightlife and business of phuket town / Patong

Wonderful property!
