“Beautiful Resort at Secluded Beautiful Mai Khao Beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2014

I stayed here for 3 nights in January. The resort is excellent and next to the beautiful mai khao beach. The staff is gentle and kind.

I just had a problem while checking out. I had called one night earlier and asked them for a late checkout till 2 PM. They confirmed the same. Next morning when I went to the reception they told me I had to vacate the room as soon as possible.

Overall this property is good and I would definitely come back to stay here when in Phuket, The resort is secluded, quiet and calm.

Stayed at this property on a short trip during december.. it shares its facilities with the JW Marriot Mai Khao, so excellent facilities available.. the apartment was excellent and we had a lovely time there.. Cooking facilities available with all necessary utensils available..
only thing is if you want to travel to patong beach area then u need to rent a car as thats the best way to go around.. taxis will be expensive.. but if you want a holiday just to relax at an unpolluted beach which shares the beach with a national park , then this is the place to be..
I read somewhere that this is the longest beach in Phuket and it sure seemed so..
Children play area was also excellent with a reasonable priced nanny service available..

Highly recommended for folks with children wanting to have a relaxing time ..

This was the last stop of our Andaman Sky tour of the region, with whom we booked the transfers and the other 2 hotels, not this one because my husband has built up some reward points by staying at Marriots elsewhere. Pretty boring hotel, really, but also nice enough in a corporate kind of way.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else, ask Andaman Sky's advice for where to stay.

We are currently one week into our 3 week holiday here and having a lovely time. This is our 8th stay and we really love it here and so do our young children. The staff are all lovely and very kind to our children.
I must comment though that some service elements have slipped since our last stay and it's these little things that make us feel like the 5-star experience has now dropped. For example there is no longer towels put on the sun beds, I had my young baby with the the other day and a staff member watched me struggle to put the towels down. We have yet to be offered lunch by the pool despite ordering every day we have had to go ask to order something whereas in the past there were ppl offering menus throughout the day.
Our children love the kids club and all the staff are very friendly and welcoming. We have found that some of the paid activities are very expensive for young children especially when we are here for a long time e.g. 900 baht to paint a tshirt (equivalent to over $30 aus dollars) is a bit excessive. It would be good if there were other free or cheaper activities running concurrently.
The housekeeping are excellent and ensure the villa is kept clean and tidy. The food is also of a high standard.
If you are looking for a great family friendly resort away from the action I would definitely recommend the Marriott.

We stayed at this resort the end of October/first of November 2013. How can I fault a resort that is beautifully landscaped, constantly groomed, the public areas comfortable and inviting while staffed by people that simply cannot do enough to make your stay memorable? The pools are beautifully mantained as are the villas. The villas themselves are absolutely spotless, smartly decorated and the beds comfortable enough to make you want to linger a few extra minutes each morning or even consider a nap inside rather than one by the pool. You even have a tidy up service each day which isn't usual in a timeshare unless you have an extra charge. Afterall, these villas are considered a home not a hotel. Yes this is a rather isolated resort...personally,I have had my fill of rushing here and there trying to cram a month's worth of activities into a week.....the isolation made this one of my most relaxing vacations in years. However, if you want lots of activities, there are plenty to be had on site without going anywhere. All you have to do is check the list of free activities that are listed in the welcoming folder. You have a selection restaurants at the resort with local Thai restaurants for the more adventurous eaters within a short walking distance. You can eat cheaply or not...your choice. My husband and I have been Marriott Timeshare owners for 19 years , owning four weeks. I never begrudge the maintenance fees. Whenever I travel, I find the Marriott resorts well maintained, the villas gorgeous and located in desirable locations. This resort is no exception. A dream vacation in more ways than one. Another trip of a lifetime to add to my bank of memories.

One of the best things we ever did was buy 2 weeks of Marriott timeshare. We have been all over the world using it. The Marriott Phuket beach club which is joined to the JW Marriott hotel is one of the best.( Don't go to the other resort it is not as good) We exchanged our week in Europe and got everything we could ever want. We paid for the business class flights with our marriott reward points, We had the resort collect us from the airport, we got the apartment near the north pool we requested ( no kids in this pool most of the time) and we had a wonderful time. The buffet breakfast at the JW Marriott is fab, as long as you go hungry and stay a while and eat plenty then it is value for money. ALL the restaurants were wonderful ( we only went out to eat twice as the food is so good on site) The people who moan at the prices of the convenience store on site, I say "get a cab and go off site to the local supermarket" for me I LOVE the "convenience" of it and I am happy to pay the price. Our vacations are precious to us so we like to have everything, easy, convenient , top of the range, and the best service. As Marriott timeshare owners we expect it and get it every time. I have only 2 issues. The first is that none of the restaurants seem to have their own toilets, you have to leave the restaurant and go to the toilet. If you are eating at the sushi restaurant you have to climb the stairs to find your nearest one. 2nd we had a very very late flight on our departure. I know we can pack our stuff and use the resort all day and get changed in the gyms changing rooms BUT that is not us...... We wanted to stay in our room for half a day more...... we were expecting to pay if the resort was not fully booked etc etc but we were a little miffed that in the JW hotel you can pay for a half day extension but at the resort you have to pay for a full extra night !! I think this is a little greedy and could so easily be implemented...... if they have availability then half a day extra charge is fair. If you have not been to this resort GO, if you are wanting this 5 star type of vacation for the rest of your lives then believe what the timeshare sales men tells you......... it works just like they say it will.

Room Tip: North pool blocks are as far away from the main building as you can get, so it is a bit of a walk to...

We were 5 adults and a kid with some old people in the group. The flat was luxurious, two bedrooms and a big drawing cum kitchen with a sofa cum bed. The beds are very comfortable and also the bathrooms very big / round bath tub a hit with kids. The kitchen was useful for cooking a little. The swimming pool and kids room is very good too.

The rack rate is $500 per night and the room quality is worth it. The only question is you have to have a referral from a good friend or buy the expensive Marriott Holiday plan.

The only downside is that this is not next to the sea (but a 5min hotel buggy ride away) or the main part of Phuket where most hotels are.
