“Splendid stay at an awesome resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

We spent three lovely days at the Anantara Phuket Villas from 17-19 July 14 and it's easily one of our best hotel stays thus far. Splendid hospitality from the friendly team that exceeded our expectations, our stay at the Anantara Phuket Villas was exceptional.

All my requests were met with and are above expectations. As we travelled with our little 9.5 month old girl, I requested to have her meals (purees) catered twice daily and Nora together with the Executive Chef met with us on arrival to ensure that her meals are what I wanted and are well taken care of. This is true hospitality!

What's more as my arrival flight was early and departure flight late at night, my requests for early check-in and late check-out were fulfilled seamlessly (do note that my travel period is non-peak, monsoon season so please don't fault them if yours can't be met as they are subject to availability).

The highlight of the trip has to be the amazing pool villa! 'Twas cozy, clean and well-appointed equipped with thoughtful amenities such as a baby cot, baby bath tub and toiletries. There was even a beach tote and lavender pillow mist for a good night's sleep, how sweet!

Breakfast was sumptuous with a good variety, service staff were friendly and attentive, in room dining was superb, food quality was really good. All in all it was a relaxing and fruitful stay and we will be back! Thank you to the great team at Anantara Phuket Villas especially Nora!

Best,
Tracy, Jerry & Baby Alista

Room Tip: Room 68 is close to the hotel restaurant and not too far from the beach and hotel pool, very central...

Just come back from a families vacation in Thailand and ananntara was one of the best hotel we ever been .
The room is great with a nice pool , the garden around the hotel are amazing , the staff and the service is great and they relay try to serve you all day long.
The kids club was great with a personal touch to our kids .
The main pool is great and it was almost empty all day long (green season ...)
The food in hotel is expensive but is very good .we eat lunch at the " turtle village " shopping center next to the hotel and it's was cheap and great for the kids .
All in all the resort is great for a luxrey vacation .

My family recently spent 15 nights Anantara Phuket Villas and absolutely loved this property. I am glad that we chose the one property for such a long period, as i would have had real trouble leaving the place if i had just booked a standard 4-5 nights.

The villas are spacious and well set out with everything you expect from a good hotel. The beds are amazing - Super King Size and so comfortable. Rooms have cookies, coffee and fruit refreshed daily, and also contained a selection of toiletries, mosquito lotion, bath salts, etc.

The star attraction of these villas, however, is the private pool and sala area, which was the main reason that this trip was so relaxing. There is something special about having a private pool that is accessible at all hours of the day and night for your personal use. We booked this property in the anticipation that this would be a great feature and we were not disappointed. Many days we spent the entire day in the pool. As a professional who spends most of my long days at a desk or in meetings, this was absolutely what I needed from a holiday.

Service at the hotel was fantastic - from check-in/out, to restaurants, room service, babysitting, local experience and concierge were amazing. Special mention to Gobie who did an amazing job taking care of every detail of all activities that i wanted to arrange for my family. At times it felt like the whole resort was there for me, and a lot of this is down to the staff who went out of their way to accommodate every request.

We ate at the main restaurant (La Sala) each day for breakfast, as well as a couple of lunches and dinner. Food was very nice, and service great. Every day after breakfast staff would give my son baskets of bread to feed the ducks and fish in the lagoon - something he looked forward to every day. We also had Dining by Design in the Wine Tasting Room, which was an indulgence, and my wife's favourite memory of the trip. The Treehouse cocktail lounge was a great place to spend the twilight hours enjoying a cocktail.

The spa was under renovation during our stay, however we were able to get a massage at the temporary spa, set up in a villa on the property. The change in location was hardly noticeable, however the new spa does look great.

I also did a cooking class which was highly enjoyable.

There is a gym and kids club, which we never really used, as well as a massive pool for all guests to use at the beach entrance to the property.

Another aspect to this property are the pushbikes freely available for getting around the property. Another small touch that really adds to the charm and enjoyment of the overall experience.

There are many restaurants to choose from, including at the hotel, in the neighboring hotels, as well as at the Turtle Village shopping centre. Bill Bentley's Bar was a favourite, and was pleasingly more of a family bistro than a full blown pub. The menu is very diverse and good value, there are heaps of games for kids to play, live sport is showing constantly and the restaurant/pub itself is very clean. Clientele were predominantly families during our visit. There is also a mini mart at the Turtle Village which is great for beer, snacks, bread, toiletries, etc.

Location is good as it is a short trip to the airport, but is about 40 mins to Phuket Town and a bit longer to Patong, Karon, etc. The hotel arranged for our transport, and helped us select appropriate operators for other activities when on our day trips.

The management team are a constant presence in the hotel, mingling with guests at breakfast and assisting us regularly with queries. It is a really nice touch, and just adds to the feeling that we are valued guests. Overall this was a wonderful family holiday, and I would highly recommend to anyone prioritising relaxation and privacy.

We had a very relaxing stay at the Anantara villas in Phuket when we visited last year. The pool villa was beautiful and particularly enjoyed lounging by the pool which however was quite noisy due to a number of kids & guests. The overall breakfast, spa, food was great and we did not feel the need to leave the hotel for the 3 nights. Definitely recommend the hotel and the beach is lovely too with the massage huts out there. Thank you to all the staff who were always pleasant and

My family spent 4 days here and very much enjoyed the service and facility. Resort is very quiet and very private. Villa is big enough for my family and with private pool. I got upgraded for lagoon view which is very nice. Service is excellent and very custom-oriented. Most of staff are nice and friendly, except one staff (already informed hotel in the feedback form). Location is not too far from airport, but far from downtown, patong, other beach areas. Food price in resort is quite high, but there is a Turtle village which is like a small shopping mall nearby and there are many reasonable-price restaurants there. My family really loves this place and will definitely come back again.

First thing I want to say was the service at this hotel was exceptional. Everyone was very friendly and approchable. Really made our stay happy and memorable. makes a big difference.

Upon arrival, we were well greeted, had a drink and cold towel. The process was smooth and quick... done at our villa too.

We had the pool villa which was one of the closest to the beach and hotel pool. It was also less than a minute away from the lobby/breakfast place. The rooms were spacious and the pool was amazing, there is also this little hut/sala next to our pool (where the minibar is). It was a really nice getaway, relaxing villa. Privacy is high, there's an outdoor tub and shower which was also a nice touch. Even though there were afternoon rain showers during this season, we still enjoyed chilling in the sala outside because we wanted to make the most out of the Villa.

We tried the hotels pool food and that was quite delicious, the thai food mainly. What I liked the most was the big sunbeds which were so comfortable to lay in. The service at the pool was exceptional too, they came to check on us regularly and help us adjust the Sun umbrella if we needed to.

The only thing I'd say which were a bit of a downside was the food was slightly too expensive even for hotel standards. Although, the staff was helpful and advised us that there is Turtle village a minute away which had a few shops and coffee shop, restaurant as alternatkcw oprions. We went there a few times because the price of that food is better value. Despite the prices, it would have been nice to have one or two more restaurant choices in the Hotel. I heard they were renovating an area, perhaps there should've been another one.

Another thing is their insects and mosquitoes. Think it's because of the lagoon and the greenary around and so they have quite a few mosquitoes. They do have regular spraying around the Hotel I believe but I think because of how much greenary there is around it's inevitable that there will be some. So make sure you spray some if you're sitting outdoor. Considering the nice landscape around I think it compensates for this downside. So I'm fine with it, just make sure you spray some repellent from time to time.

The service at the restaurants, room service were all superb. Staff was friendly and would chat with us and make sure everything was OK thoughout our stay and our meals. Everyone remembered our names and efficiency is high. cannot emphasise this anymore.

Conclusion is I would definitely recommend this hotel for a romantic or relaxing stay at a resort. Service definitely the best I've experienced. Really nice pool Villa!

Thank you Anantara team for making it a great experience!

If paradise exists, surely the Anantara Phuket Villa complex would be it. From the dramatic yet understated gong announcing our arrival to the sweet smelling jasmine wristbands, lemon-grass infused cold towels and iced rosella juice to the sweet nature and "Thai-smile" of the staff, check-in could not be faulted.
This was a rare return visit to a property previously enjoyed three years ago and it begs the question as to why we waited so long to return. To be clear, it is not a hotel per se; although there is a lobby area, shop, lounge, bars and restaurants but built in the style of a Thai village comprising a number of private villas with pool. The grounds and surrounding areas remain immaculately maintained and buggies can whisk you off to your villa should you choose not to walk but the restaurants and public pool area are all in close proximity and the verdant landscape is worth enjoying. It must be said that it might not be for everyone but the sense of privacy and total seclusion ticks so many boxes. The villa itself is large, airy with a First Class bed, bedding and pillows. Plenty of lounging areas, hanging space, dressing room, coffee making facilities, cookies, mini-bar. There is an indoor and outdoor shower with a bath built-into the swimming pool. We were pleased to see the television had been updated since last time (Well Done!) Some villas have access to the sala - directly on the lagoon, but all have views over this.
Breakfast service is impeccable with staff remembering favourite items and there is a good choice of western and asian dishes. Plenty of food options and the Turtle Village (just next door) also has a number of inexpensive but very good venues.
The new(ish) GM has inherited superb staff each of whom could not seem to do enough to make our stay memorable. Special thanks to "X" for looking after us so well.
If you want peace and tranquility, look no further than Anantara Phuket Villas; it was very difficult to leave!!

Dear Glindaba,

Thank you very much for the very nice description of our Resort. Yes, it’s really, as you say, a Thai village with private pool villas in immaculately maintained gardens. In addition, it is gratifying that you enjoyed our elaborate breakfast spread as well as our attentive members of staff. I fully agree that I inherited superb staff - I am really spoiled. Let’s make sure that it does not take another three years until you return again!
We are all looking forward to soon welcoming you back.
