“Excellent stay at Moonrise Cottage”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

My husband and I stayed in the Moonrise cottage which was fabulous. Very secluded with no one around. The cottage was very clean with fresh towels, chopped wood, bread making and breakfast supplies ready for the first morning. We never saw or heard from owner. When we arrived the key was in the door ready to go.
Having our car under a carport was great as well
The location is perfect for exploring the great ocean road and twelve apostles. We loved all the bird life and koala,s that came to visit.
Would definitely recommend!!

The cottage and settings were absolutely lovely! Great escape into nature, and we loved the secluded location. Amazing setting and perfect for just a romantic getaway or for a small group of friends. Loved all of the inclusions - from a breadmaker (and all supplies), to a cozy fireplace, BBQ, heaters, hot tub (spa), and even windchimes! The place was very tidy and and had all amenities needed for a rustic weekend. Great place for hiking, bushwalking and not even too far from Apollo Bay should you want to sneak in a beach trip. All in all, very comfy, cosy and can't wait to go back again!

I pre booked 6 nights with full payment. I am a business woman on my own with two pooches. I arrived and could not switch on Foxtel, there was no signal. The BBQ didn't switch on. Two windows in the cottage had blinds removed, the spa and the bathroom, made me very uncomfortable. The cottage was dated and needed repairs. I checked out 24 hours after arrival. I left voicemail to management one hour after arrival for assistance, they claim they didn't receive. Then sent email to express my disappointment and let them know I had checked out and they didn't have decency to even respond. Would not recommend to anyone. Very over rated and unprofessional management.

Amazing setting for the moonlight cottage.
The one room setup was very well thought off, with fireplace and spa and great decor.
The cottage was really clean and fully equipped with all commodities necessary from flatscreen tv, to a breadmaker with supplies (perfect home made breakfast), dvd player and playstation, washing machine, fully equipped kitchen.
The setting in the bush with splendid views of the ranges will guarantee you all the quiet and privacy we were so looking forward too when escaping the city.
Dog friendly place, but if like us you don't have one it is still a perfect romantic getaway.

We stayed for a weekend at grass trees cottage and loved it! We have 2 dogs who were absolutely at home next to the lovely fire, and thoroughly enjoyed the little animal trails and smells in the bush right outside the front door. The cottage is comfy, cosy and peaceful.

The wind chime on the (fully fenced) deck was beautiful in the afternoon sun, and as the sun set outside the front of the cottage throught the trees.
A must for nature lovers - especially those who are into birds! And anyone looking for a few days in the fresh air, away from the city.

Couldn't reccomended it enough to anyone looking for a place to holiday with dogs.

We were looking forward to a nice 3 day stay in a secluded location, which we found in this grass trees cottage. The area is very nice among the trees, however we missed walking trails. The cottage is poorly designed, but the smell in the bathroom was appalling and there was no room at all to hang our clothes. There was nobody around to talk to and already few years ago people complained in the guestbook about the smell, it is for us totally amazing this problem is not fixed. A simple inspection of the construction revealed missing S-bends on the sinks as possible culprit. Later we stayed in way better and much cheaper places in the same area, so we found this place to be quite overpriced. For the $285 per night we had to chop our own wood. On a positive note we loved to tuned wind-chime.

Room Tip: Please choose another cottage or check for smell (although it was hidden at first by leaving all win...

A lovely secluded set of cottages hidden in the Otways. We were looking for a romantic getaway, away from the crowds and a little off the tourist trail. The service was personal but relaxed and we had everything we needed in the cottage, including a modern TV and even a bread maker! Our pets felt as at home as we did, great facilities for our dogs and plenty of bush for them to explore.

Amazing accommodation in an amazing location. Koalas galore!!

Room Tip: We stayed at Grasstrees cottage, highly recommended.
