“Good location, excellent spa!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013 via mobile

I stayed here in January 2013 for 4 nights. I ventured into the Spa which isn't really publicised and Wow! It has a big pool, fab steam and sauna with hot and cold plunge pools. I was really surprised at the mood lighting, it's a really lovely Spa. Odd towel deal where you pay reception €10 deposit for a towel and change it at reception for a clean one. You get your money back at the end.
You can walk straight out onto the sprawling beach at the rear and there is ample parking at the front.
Rooms were not bad, I've seen better. I had a few issues with the water not coming through the shower correctly but the hotel had only been open for 1 week after the Winter shutdown so had a few teething problems.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

Been to this hotel with the family (2 adults, 1 child (y.o.) during september 2012. Arrived quite early, had to wait half an hour before we could move into our room, bur this wasn't a problem to us. We had a family room. This means a separate bedroom which had a television of its own. Room was a bit noisy as we slept next to the road and had a airco unite outside and opposite of our room.

The hotel itself is located in a one-road village, without much to see. It's also located on a nice, but very crowded beach. Rental of beds on this beach is managed by the city, so has nothing to do with the hotel.

There was plenty of space at the pool of the Village part op the hotel. The other part (Iberostar Playa de Muro) seemed a bit crowded with all beds occupied at some times. Crossing from the Village (which is cosier and more quiet) to the other part was no problem, all facilities there could be used.

Indoor pool is very nice, offering a nice pool, whirlpool, sauna and more. Not very crowded either. We found it to be ideal in the morning, when the outdoor pool was still very cold. On the other side, it's a shame kids aren't allowed after 3 pm....

The animation was good, especially for our little daughter. There is a miniclub, with great staff and every evening at 8 there is a kid's disco. She even enjoyed the shows afterwards, most notably the Lion King.

The all-in is good, with a good choice of places to eat and drink. Quality drinks too. The 'burger-house' however is named somewhat wrong. It offers 6 dishes, and 1 of them is a burger. We went to the other pool bars instead (2 other).

Service is correct and friendly. Not to familiar either. Sometimes a bit slow in coming to take orders, but never felt this was an in issue.

Food quality is good, especially in the pool bars/restaurants. We found the food in the main restaurant to be on the greasy side after a few days. Also, the choice of main dishes was not to our liking every day, but still there was plenty of choice. A bit sad though there were only a limited number of cheeses to choose from in the evening. Breakfast was also good, with lots of choice and several fresh juices.

So, positive :
- choice of food
- location at a nice beach
- good pool bars
- lots of place and beds at the Village pool
- indoor pool
- kid's animation
- large room

negative :
- besides the beach, location not very good
- quality of food in the evening
- pool towels could only be changed from 5 pm onwards
- crowded beach (though this has nothing to do with the hotel)
- indoor pool not opened for kids after 3 pm
- rooms decoration (bit old-fashioned)

Definitely not the best holiday I've had (nor the most expensive for that matter), but had a great week as my daughter had a wonderful stay at the hotel.

Back from Majorca yesterday,we had booked Playa De Muro hotel for 10 nights but were told we were double-booked and would have to go next door to the village, most annoyed as we had stayed at the hotel 14 times before.
We needn't had worried.
We were put in a deluxe room with seperate bedroom, microwave and tea making facilities,it was great and for any brits reading this we had ITV and BBC1 on the telly (only get sky news next door).
The village is half the capacity of the hotel which means it is quieter, there were always plenty of sunbeds around the pool, some days there was only the two of us there (can't get better than that)
The staff service was was very good at reception,at the bar and in the restaurant .
The food was great and there was plenty of choice but a couple of nights we did go out to eat just for a change of scenery (highly recommend La Isla,Ole and Topo Gigio restaurants which are all opposite).Evening entertainment in the hotel can be a bit drab and that's another reason for eating out.
The cleanliness of the village is excellent and our maid Antonia was superb.
I know I was annoyed when they first said we would be moved to the village but I would definitely go back there,Iberostar just need to reduce the price because that is the reason we have stayed 14 times next door and next year will be the 15th.

Just returned from a second all inclusive trip to the Playa de Muro Village and the service, food and general standard had improved from the year before.
The buffet restaurant had improved its food offering and the staff were friendly.
My only niggle is having to pay for sunbeds on the beach.

The only warning is their sister hotel (which shares entertainment staff) does look poor in comparison but I guess this is also reflected in the cost of staying there.

just got back from this hotel .the room was not ready when we arrived, when it was ready we had to find it ourselves, site consists of seven buildings. Basically do,t go to this hotel ,never a four star a cross between a hostel and three stars,Rooms filthy paid over 3 thousand pound for eleven nights in thia appalling hotel. booked a junior suite with duel aspect and sea veiws, got a room that was very dated had never been cleaned, stank of human waste and was a disgrace to any organization.Requested a another room and was moved after two days. Well now for the food if you like yours swimming in grease then you,ll like this, or maybe ants in the fruit is your thing, then again children takeing bites out of the buffet and then returning to the display is you idea of great. No well like i said steer well clear of this hotel. Now behavior not adults just unsupervised children running round the restaurant with toy guns, then after the clanging of mops and buckets theres the sound of breaking plates glasses etc. Some guests looked a mixture of sad and appalled, terrible place would mind an apology and a small return of my three thousand, but maybe not if i had to go and collect it. If you cann,,,t afford to loose money don,,,t go.If you think you are decent but not posh then keep away

Dear Barbara,

Thank you very much for your comments which are greatly appreciated. We continuously strive to meet your needs and desires; therefore your feedback is very important to us. Please accept our most sincere apologies for not being able to fulfill your expectations.

We do our best to ensure that the noise level always stays within the limits and that implemented rules are respected by all users of our installations. On exceptional occasions it is very complicated to guarantee this, as not all visitors have equal perception of values which creates different points of view.

In additions we took good note of your remarks related to our culinary offer and we feel sad about your disappointed. The gastronomy is one of the pillars of our chain and we can assure you that it is essential for us that our customers enjoy our cuisine. For this reason, Iberostar is reinvented year after year, improving facilities and renewing our hotels with themed restaurants, special effects for the buffet, Show Cooking, etc. We have passed your constructive critics to the head of the department and we are checking the protocols in order to guarantee the compliance of our demanding quality standards. Even so, we would like to mention that currently we only work with professional chefs of great recognition that use only top quality products.

Further we want to apologies that due to the high season we couldn´t provide a quicker room change. In order to make sure that on coming occasions you can enjoy the type of room and views you actually desire we would like to suggest that you contact our call center so that they can offer a personal booking guidance whilst planning your next holiday. In Iberostar we offer many different types of accommodation, views and rates. We even have Adults Only establishments at your disposal, a look on our Iberostar Web page might be inspiring for coming vacations. Nevertheless we would like to point out that our hotel is known for its distinctive Mediterranean-inspired decor and unrivaled location, it features an unbeatable array of sports and leisure, options. The Iberostar Playa de Muro Village Hotel is a top lodging choice among hotels in Alcudia if you are searching for a few days of peace and serenity near the sea. Our marvellous hotel spa and Thai Zen SPAce will help you disconnect and escape from your daily routine for the ultimate in relaxation, the best ways to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Next to the Iberostar Playa de Muro Village Hotel is the S'Albufera Natural Park as well as Playa de Muro, whose long, sandy beach runs for over three miles. The natural landscape surrounding is a true paradise for bird-watchers and nature lovers.

On the other hand, we are sorry that you find the cleanliness insufficient; we certainly will keep on working to maintain, revise and if necessary adapt our high quality service keeping focused on customer satisfaction and fulfillment of our demanding Iberostar hotel standards. We understand that hygiene is a must and commit to be attentive on the matter.

Once again thank you for your feedback, we do appreciate all of your comments as they can help us to improve. We hope to see you again in the near future and to have the opportunity to offer you a very enjoyable experience with Iberostar.

With friendly regards we stay at your disposal,

this is not a 4* hotel, booked on half board(£2060) shocked to find drinks had to be purchased at evening meal even water, wanted to upgrade to all inclusive it was 108Euros for 2 people per day(this was for lunch and local drinks)if you purchased lunch on site it was 26euros each regardless of what you ate. Beach beds were 10euro per day and had to booked and paid for in advance, staff on site spoke very little English, reception was very abrupt, drinks very expensive,(Bacardi coke 1 beer 10.05 euro) on the up side rooms were clean but very out dated (1980s)
The hotel grounds are very well kept but the food was mediocre, same salads and pasta every evening, all in all very disappointed, would not go again, this was our silver wedding anniversary holiday but was not silver standard. SEG Yorkshire

Further we assure you that we choose and school our staff to cover as many languages as possible as we understand that good communication and service orientation are of prime importance to achieve maximum customer satisfaction. We are sorry that on this occasion their performance did not meet your expectations.

In relation to the sun beds on the beach we kindly inform you that the beach is public and it is the municipality which decides prices and protocols to rent their loungers
Finally we would like to thank you for highlighting how well kept our hotel grounds are and also the cleanliness of the rooms and installations. We passed your compliments to the house keeping staff and they were all delighted to have contributed to your well being among us. We booked this hotel in January this year. We haven't ever been all inclusive before but thought we would give it a try. The food was fantastic! Lots of choice on the lunch buffet and a fabulous choice in the main restaurant at dinner time. If you enjoy seafood & fish then you will have lots of choice, plenty of fresh salads, meats and always a huge selection of fresh fruit. The children could always get some pasta or chicken nuggets/chips etc...Having never stayed at an Iberostar Hotel before I would definatly return. The staff were very helpful & friendly (especially the entertainment team & children's reps) couldn't do more for you. The pool was never over crowded (think this helped as the beach was only 2mins away) the beach was perfect very warm and shallow for miles! The hotel complex very clean and was nice to be able to pop next door to the sister complex of an evening as that's where the children's mini disco took place! Would defiantly recommend & would also return in the future!
