“Great for families, but we went as a couple!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

Great hotel, Especially for young families. However we went as a couple and found the quality of the late night entertainment by the Swedish entertainers was really professional. We booked on a self catering basis, and although we ate out plenty, the quality of the buffet breakfast at the Pins is wonderful! The guests are all Tui group customers, so very few English speakers, Yipee.
Local restaurant which is best is next to the Playa Garden, and better prices than elsewhere for quality food.

Room Tip: A room in D Block over looking the pool is fine

We didn't actually book this hotel but after our original choice was cancelled by First Choice we were 'upgraded' to here. We went for a week for our son's 2nd birthday - all inclusive.
With our son only being 2 we still had a buggy for him, I think our block was one of the only ones without a slope, just about 10 steep steps which we had to carry the buggy up 3 or 4 times a day.
The room was ok, we were supposed to have a room for 4 with cot space but i'm not sure where the cot space was as the bedroom was packed tight with 2 single beds. We didn't ask for a cot in the end as it would have meant my son sleeping in the lounge and the door didn't actually have a lock and so we had to block it every night with furntiure just incase he tried to open the door! Our balcony overlooked the small baby pool which was lovely.
The swimming pools were nice, we tried the big main pool one morning but we much preferred the baby pool and other children's pool with the slides which was very quiet. The baby pool wasn't as clean as i'd have liked, there were a few palm trees very close by and it seemed to be full of things dropping off the trees. The decking around this pool was quite dangerous, you had to watch were you placed your feet as a lot of it was breaking in the middle. One thing I wasn't happy with was the amount of sunbeds that were reserved - even though this was against hotel rules!!! Also kids were in the pools at 11pm at night which isn't very safe!
The staff were all lovely and the food and drinks were the best i've had on all inclusive!
I wouldn't go back any time soon as there was not much to do at the hotel, i personally like to go on walks. It is ideal for families with older children as the thompson team have a lot of activities for these during the day and on nights.

Room Tip: D103 overlooked quiet baby pool - I wouldn't have liked to be anywhere else.

Alcudia Pins is a large multi-block hotel complex and has just about everything to suit a family, a large fun pool with a spiral slide, a smaller rectangular pool, a kids pool with slides and a small paddling pool, all open air and tapwater cold, fine in mid-summer but a bit too bracing for off-season, even in October the sea was warmer. We were all inclusive, so all soft drinks and beer was free from the bars, but the service was a little slow. The meals were very good, catered for all tastes, varied and well cooked, but as it is all serve yourself buffet sometimes the hot food just wasn't very. The hotel staff were unfailingly helpful, friendly, polite and pleasant, and there were plenty of reps around entertaining the kids and putting on a good show on the stage in the evenings. The rooms were clean, well maintained and adequate each has a tv with BBC and several other stations, plenty of kids channels, my only gripe being the noise from other guests moving furniture about their rooms, presumably sofa beds and chairs, reverberated through the block and seemed to be going on all night. The hotel is right on the clean beach edge, but it is not private so the beach loungers are not owned by the hotel and have to be paid for even if you are all inclusive. Alcudia Pins is a bit out from the town, but there is plenty going on around it so you do not feel too isolated, it has its own supermarket, and is only a 15 minute bus ride to the marina and port area, and the local Sunday market in Old Alcudia is well worth a visit.

Room Tip: All rooms have balconies, some very large, some small; try to get a room not overlooking the pools o...

Stayed in 2 bed apartment with 3 kids found them very tight on space and cleanliness wise a bit iffy but only really slept there so not a major issue. Stayed all-inclusive and food very good especially Italian restaurant. Entertainment a but hit and miss but again kids liked it. Definately not hotel for single couple. Also found air conditioning in apartment not great tended to turn off around 2 in morning when u most needed it. Beautiful beach which hotel practically sits on. On the whole had a nice holiday but would I return to this hotel not so sure as I have said apartment not as clean as they should be and definitely not a 4 star hotel 3 at push but have good spa got the best and cheapest pedicure I have ever had there!

I booked this hotel after lots of research and boy were we pleased. We booked Ryan air flights and then I started emailing Juan (who I found out later was the manager of the hotel). He couldn't have been nicer and answered around 20 emails of questions for me over a 3 week period. He was so patient with me. He also helped me organise our taxi to and from the airport at a good rate.
When we arrived it was 1.40 am. We were greeted with big smiles at the reception. We were checked in a few minutes and before we went to our apartment we were told to go to the restaurant and help ourselves. Left out for us was lovely bread, cheese, salad and drinks. What other hotel will provide that for you at that hour of the morning.
We had booked a 2 bedroom apartment. My Hubby and me and 3 children aged 8,6,3. The apartment was on the small side but perfect and spotless. We had the most amazing view of both the sea and the pool with a large balcony. Ibiza block C306
We had a fantastic holiday. We went all inclusive and the food was fabulous and we wanted for nothing. There are 2 restaurants that you have to book and can only eat in once. The Italian one is lovely but the bbq one is fabulous. The other restaurants are both lovely too but the bbq one is a real treat. All the staff were so friendly and the grounds are lovely.
The beach is the best. To be able to walk straight out to the beach is brilliant. What a beach... the sand is amazing and the sea is shallow and so clear and clean. We loved the beach and you pay for the sunbeds. You can also take drinks from the pool bar to the beach, they will give you paper cups.. Spoilt or what !!
The place is so clean and the toilets around the pool are lovely. Our room was cleaned 6 out of the 7 days. We took advantage of the box of left over items at reception and got some toys for the pool. We bought lots more and put them all back for other people.
The entertainment at night time was ok ! The children enjoyed it and to us that is all that matters. I feel we were a bit late in the season. 29th Sept to 6th of Oct. I see in other reports that there were lots of other shows going on. We just had the reps. As I said the children loved it so we got to sit and relax and have a beer. The children love All inclusive , why wouldn't they !! non stop ice cream , minerals and slush puppies !!
There is very little I could fault the hotel on. In fact nothing. We chose this hotel as we didn't want to have to spend the night walking around looking for somewhere to go at night so we didn't go around the area too far.
The only minus I had about the area was the price of things in the area. The supermarket was so highly priced madness... 2.89e for a packet of biscuits. Everything was so expensive. If you think you can go self catering and buy your food too cook... you'd be broke ! I walked down the road to another shop and it was just as expensive. The men selling stuff on the beach were the same. The kids wanted to buy watches they bought last year in Spain for 5e were 25 e !! I got him down to 12. Still too much. Go all Inclusive.. Anyway we loved it and will be back for sure. Thank you Alcudia Pins.

Room Tip: We had a fabulous view in Ibiza c306

The location of alcudia pins is excellent, not too many other hotels & is right on a large beach.
The rooms are basic but sufficient for our needs which is basically somewhere to sleep & shower. There is no floor space in the bedroom & the bed is quite firm. The living room/kitchen area is large with a sofa bed that has noisy springs, coffe table & table/chairs for eating. The kitchen is equipped with microwave, fridge & 2 ring hob with plates, cutlery, saucepans, toaster & kettle that takes ages to boil. There are no free tea bags or coffee. The bathroom is again basic & tired with shower over the bath all working & the shower is quite powerful. The balcony is large extending across the living area & bedroom with table & chairs. There are no quiet rooms in this hotel. We were over the bar area between the main pool & beach, another couple we spoke to asked for a quiet room & got one overlooking the playground.
There are four restaurants, the Trattoria (Italian) which had excellent food open in the day too,but if you're all inclusive you can only eat here once a week for dinner.BBQ which is at the front of the hotel again once a week if all inclusive, can't comment on food as we didn't use it.Both these have to be booked. The other two are both themed buffet with the same theme on that day so if you don't like the food from that country you're left with chips & salad (which was on every night).I think this is the only holiday I've been on where I haven't put on weight! The food quality was pretty high though, all fresh.
We didn't go to the entertainment so can't comment on that. There was something on every night & some activities during the day but mainly seemed to be aimed at the kids.
There are two main bars (also one inside if the weather is bad) the pool bar(near the entertainment) closes at 11pm or the BBQ bar closes at 12pm.We went to the BBQ bar every evening as it was quieter & only had a few children now & then.
The staff were all efficient & friendly with a special mention to Alfonso at the BBQ.
That just leaves the biggest problem at this hotel-the kids. There are several pools here one family pool, one adult pool-which is 5ft deep & no good for me as I'm short & all the others kiddies pools. This is a large hotel with 600 rooms but the place was overrun with children, there were hundreds of them. There were kids running round from 8am till 11pm so if this is not your ideal holiday or you want to relax in peace & quiet find a smaller, quiter hotel.
We went on the beach instead which was usually quiter with some children.Ther is a charge for use of the beach loungers & parasols.

Me, my partner and our 20 month old son stayed here for a week at the end of September. This hotel is gorgeous, the grounds are really pretty and the up keep of the place is exceptional.

The rooms are basic but modern and clean with good size balcony space, they are cleaned 5 days out of 7 which is ample. All of the staff greet you as you pass them and all are very polite and smartly dressed. The tv in the room has cbeebies which is a lifesaver with a toddler!

We stayed all inclusive and it was excellent. Multiple restaurants to choose from. Food prepared and cooked in front of you. The only downside we found was that at very busy times the food ran out and there was sometimes quite a wait for specific dishes but the food is delicious.

Drink selection was wide and ice creams and snacks available most of the day by the pool. We wanted for nothing during our stay.

Entertainment was varied and catered for multiple nationalities. The reps were fab and the feature acts that visited the hotel included Chinese acrobats, African acrobats, flamenco dancers and they had their own show team. Was great fun.

Location is perfect if you're looking for a quiet area. We took the bus to alcudia town and port and to c'an picafort. This was cheap but the buses can be very crowded between 10 and 3 which was tricky with a small child and pushchair.

There's a taxi rank right outside the hotel which we opted for and found was more comfortable and the fares were very reasonable.

All in all a fabulous holiday. We would return. Thank you Alcudia Pins!
