“Good place for a tour of North Jutland and a lot cheaper than Skagen”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2014

Stayed here for 2 days on our tour of Jutland with our Danish friends. Hotel and food package was comfortable and good value but be aware there are a number of rooms that have seen better days and are not the best in the hotel and we got one of these (Room 302). It wasn't a big problem for us but it could have been better. There are no lifts etc. so may not be so good if you can't cope with flights of stairs etc. Town is not the most exciting we've seen but was adequate. Overall was a great choice for us and the DB&B option certainly made it more affordable. Denmark isn't the cheapest place for food and drink. Overall would recommend this place.

In the UK, 'Trading Standards' would prosecute this establishment for misrepresentation as, apart from providing B & B accommodation, at our visit, the Bar, Cafe & Restaurant were CLOSED. There are no ground floor rooms and no Lift, my wife & I have difficulty with lots of stairs - the stairs to the car park do not even have a handrail.
Until this Hotel becomes adequately staffed, I cannot suggest that you risk making a reservation. This Hotel fell far short of our expectation for a 3 Star classification.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2010

On the plus sides this hotel is well situated in the centre of town, the breakfast was not bad , the bedding clean and the staff reasonably helpful. Now to the minuses; the hotel is very dark and dingy and is generally in a poor state of repair. My bedroom was dire with horrible cheap light fittings and furniture and a very old T.V. that managed only two channels. The bedroom desperately needed decorating and the worst thing of all was the en-suite shower and w.c. room which smelled very strongly of urine throughout my stay. The towels were not changed during my three night stay.

I would avoid staying in this hotel unless you really have no choice. Sadly, the hotel seems to have the monopoly in this small town.

Hello!

I am sorry to say that the report seems not to be related to Hotel Phoenix in Broenderslev.
Checking our records we did not have an english speaking guest during the stay reportet.
Furthermore our towels are changed daily! Please keep in mind that there are 6 Hotel Phoenix in Denmark and 3 closed in the region, namely in Aalborg, Broenderslev and Hjoerring.
I take it that the guest sending the review must have chosen wrong location.
With kind regards,
Helge Eggert
