We stayed at the Marriott Village D'ile de France between July 7th and the 14th and absolutely loved it. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa which was immaculately clean--kitchen, dining room, living room, 2 bedrooms, foyer, laundry room, 3 bathrooms and plenty of closets. Each room was pleasantly decorated and the LR/DR lead out to a patio overlooking a pond and the golf course. The property is designed to resemble a French Village. There is a play center overseen by 2 "teachers" onsite for the kids (which my children enjoyed), a bar with a limited menu, and a great pool.
A shuttle bus is available from the resort, which takes you to the Disney Parks as well as the train station for trains to Paris. We went to the Disney Parks during 2 days of our stay, and went to Paris 3 other days. It takes about 45 minutes by train on the RER, which leaves you in the center of Paris. I've read reviews that indicate that this is a long trip, however, the trip is really not that bad.
It's a 10 minute walk to town, where there is a Champion Supermarket and a very good Patisserie with excellent French Bread and Croissants.
The only drawbacks with the resort is the lack of restaurant options and their expensive food market There is no full service restaurant on the property, just a bar with a limited offerring. The resort offers a "galloping gourmet" service which is a take out service, delivering food from a variety of area restaurants. Beware--it is very expensive and portions are small.
Tip - walk to the supermarket to buy what you need, and cook in your villa if you have the time or want to make the effort. We had dinner in our villa 3 nights and it was great. Additionally, try to buy things like soda, beer, snacks at the supermarket, because you'll pay dearly if you purchase these items in the resorts market. Use the resort's market only as a last resort.
If you want to make a long distance call to the US from the villa it will cost you 2 Euro per minute. Ask the desk to sell you a France Telecom Card. For about 7 Euro, you can have about 25 minutes of talk time using the public phone in the lobby.
In the final analysis, we had a fabulous time at the Marriott and we definitely recommend staying there.
