“Exceptional hospitality, stunning landscape and sumptuous dining”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2010

Our week at Cascina Sant eufemia exceeded our expectations in every way. Firstly and foremost the hosts Chiara and Paolo are a very friendly, genuine and committed couple who have a simple approach to doing all they can to respond to the needs of their guests. Over a delicious home prepared breakfast they will happily assist in identifying the sights of the region, booking the evenings restaurant or interpreting the local cultural and historical context. As this is a working winery and hazel nut orchard they are busy people and along with Chiara's parents are engaged in these duties most of the time during the day. But they are also always ready to assist guests with any immediate needs as we found on a number of occasions. No fuss no problem.

If you are after bling, luxury, marble, massages, sandy beaches and trendy bars dont come here. If you want to experience genuine rural piemontese hospitality, real people committed to a lifestyle based on traditional values, absolutely delicious food and wines, spotless and tasteful accommodation, the historic attractions of the Piedmont and breathtaking landscapes then book now.

We'll be back.

My husband and I (along with my brother and his wife) had the pleasure of staying for 5 nights in September at this wonderful, welcoming place. As everyone has mentioned, Chiara and Paulo are the consummate hosts. Even their 2 dogs were incredibly friendly! They consistently went above and beyond what is expected - Chiara even allowed me to use her washing machine to clean a few clothes when she heard about our sad story of lost luggage. My sister-in-law had hung a few clothes out to dry and while we were away it had begun to rain, so Chiara's mom brought the clothes in! How many hosts do things like that??!! The breakfasts were delicious, their company was delightful, their suggestions for restaurants were always good. As everyone has said, you arrive immediately feeling like family, and when you leave, you ARE a part of their family. A wonderful pace to stay......

After reading all of the very positive reviews of Cascina Sant'Eufemia, it is hard to add anything more. Our stay lived up to our expectations and more. Paolo and Chiara and Chiara's parents, are wonderful hosts. They are warm, knowledgeable, smart, funny and unobtrusive. Cascina is a working vineyard and hazlenut farm. While the hosts and family were busy with harvest and farm chores, they never seemed stressed. By the time we left we felt we were a part of the family.
Our room, the blue room, was clean and comfortable, and while not overly luxurious, it served us well. Breakfasts are also great; tasty local cheeses, salami, yogurt, warm, fresh bread, homemade baked goods, and freshly squeezed juices.
We were fortunate to have enjoyed some very clear weather. The near view from the Cascina of the rolling vineyards, farms and woods was mesmerizing and we also had the fortune of being able to see the impressive high alpine peaks to the west and north. Some of the best dining in Europe is only a short drive away and our hosts made recommendations that were consistently excellent. The wonderful scenery, country hiking, castles and hilltop towns and relaxed friendly atmosphere and great food made for a perfect vacation.

We stayed here on our honeymoon for 7 nights and it was fantastic. Chiara and Paolo were the highlight, they were incredibly friendly, helpful and gracious hosts - they were there to recommend and book local restaurants and give advice on our day to day activities but were not at all obtrusive. We emailed before our stay to ask for recommendations on winery visits and they booked a number of tours for us. Given that they have the farm to operate we really appreciated the extra effort that they went to. Breakfast was great - different local cheeses and cold cuts every day with oven warmed bread and something warm from the oven - apple strudel or muffins for example, plenty of tea and coffee and great company. The rooms (we stayed in the blue studio) was large, fully kitted out and comfortable, plus it was impeccably clean. I would recommend Cascina Sant'Eufemia is a flash, I would stay there again in a flash! Chiara and Paolo deserve the custom, it was like staying with good friends.

Our 4-night stay in Cascina Sant'Eufemia (arranged very last-minute) was the perfect ending to our holiday in Italy. The rooms are simple but spacious, tastefully decorated and perfectly clean. The views are amazing and breakfast was delicious. But, most importantly: Chiara and Paolo are honestly the friendliest, most helpful hosts we have ever met. Despite their busy work on the farm, they went out of their way to make our visit to Piemonte a succes. They gave us a tour of the winery (don't forget to take some of the stuff home - it's delicious!) and lots of information about places to go and things to do. Best of all (it is Piemonte, after all..) they made sure we had a table in of the region's excellent restaurants, keeping an eye on our budget, every night.

We are verry happy that we could stay in this wonderfull B&B for four nights. Piemonte is a very pure region where you can experience (but above all: taste!) rural Italy.

Enjoy the stunning view of the winefields, the delicious breakfast added with homemade delicacies, the serenity of the surroundings, the spacious and clean rooms and of course their own homemade wine (wich is probably the best from Piemonte!)

We would like to thank Chiara and Paulo for having us and making us feel at home immediately.

Last summer my family and I booked a few nights at Sant'Eufemia based on the good reviews from TripAdvisor. We were very pleasantly surprised by the location (beautiful surroundings), hospitality (nothing is too much trouble for Chiara and Paolo), cleanliness (the rooms are spotless), breakfast (they have a good espresso-maker!), wine (they produce some excellent wines - and hazelnuts, too!) and the restaurants in the area. This year we decided to stay again - and everything was exactly as we had hoped. My children remembered Chiara's apple fritters (I think that is what they are called), so Chiara immediately went into the kitchen to cook some - with my children. Oh - and now they have wi-fi! Sant'Eufemia deserves every star and positive review that they get. Thank you! We will be back.
