“Great service and Top Class Chef...”

Had a wonderful experience at Turtle Beach Resort, will surely visit again...The Chef was Top of the Line, its been a while since I have visited a resort where all the meals were excellent, GREAT JOB!!!

All the staff were very accommodating, Front Desk, Nyoka, Esther, Thessa :) Housekeeping Supervisor who went the extra mile to cater to our needs and Restaurant Service Staff....Keep up the Good Work Turtle Beach...

An upgrade to the main lobby for a modern cooler facility would be a plus...but I would visit again and soon :)

Mr. Amadee, Mr. Scotland and the entire team, thanks again :)

Not a bad stay at Turtle Beach, but also nothing special. During our three nights there, only 1 night offered any entertainment at all. This was disappointing to our family. Service from the staff was mediocre at best. While nobody was rude or anything like that, many staff seemed unfriendly, or at least unhappy. There were exceptions such as Dain, who was quite friendly and helpful.

My husband decided to take us to the Turtle Beach Resort. I must say if you read any negative reviews, they are not accurate. In a nut shell Check-in was smooth, we got the all inclusive package, no extra fee surprises, all meals were excellent and well prepared, nice welcoming entertainment on the house from the manager, staff are polite and attentive to your needs. The rooms are clean. View is perfect, it is quiet except for the waves crashing. And that's an awesome sound to fall asleep to. It was romantic. We got to see the Turtle lay eggs. Clean pools. We suggest you take the glass bottom boat tour. The nylon pool is just out of this world. Be sure to exfoliate your skin when you get there, it is priceless and "free". The facility was as expected, clean with all the basic needs for a beach resort. It is air conditioned. I didn't expect a Hollywood resort and you shouldn't either. There is a balcony, facing the ocean a few feet away. Sometimes waves were a little rough early morning but no problem, the secret is to go out a little further behind the waves. The rooms are big, there is a dressing room, shower and the staff cleaned our room everyday plus New linen. We enjoyed the facility a lot. Unlimited drinks, food and they even make it off the menu and deliver to your room. My husband and I got more than our moneys worth and more in the area of service. The television didn't always show clearly and I didn't care. sea, sand, sun and peace is all you want on a vacation like this. Taxi service and rental is pain free. Just ask the front desk.

Firstly I was mislead about the price from the staff namely Crystal who told me over the fone it was 2600.00 as it was my 2nd visit and on arrival it was actually 2880.00
Secondly I was with persons who were at the bar area when they were threaten by a rasta (non staff) who came from the beach and asking 4 ice when he was told by the bar tender Mark he can't get any I made a formal complaint to the front desk namely the executive chef and also desk staff but no one took me on(was not white) no one came out and appolizied. the rasta also walked up and down the beach doing all kind of signs
Thirdly my room was cleaned after 4 in the evening after several request
Fourthly it was my honey moon stay and their was nothin special my first stay was better
Overall I would rate this stay 2 out of 5 poor service, slack security, these are the essentials dat makes a resort successful 2 meaning bar and food good

Tobago, one of the cleanest places we've ever visited - certainly puts the most of Europe and the USA to shame!

If you want 5-star then go pay for it, but I guarantee you won't find a better location or a more friendly and helpful staff anywhere on the island than you will in this excellent 3-star hotel resort (we thought it deserved better than its current ranking despite the signs of wear mentioned in some other reports).

Leatherback (and one or two other kinds of) turtles emerged from the sea to lay eggs most nights when we went in early June - the start of the rainy season, though there were only a half-dozen brief but heavy showers during our two-week stay - register for the hotel's 'Turtle watch alarm system', though we found it was more successful to sit out on the warm beach and keep an eye open for the Turtle Patrols and their red torches.

if you're interested in the flora, which starts to spring to life all over the island in June, you could do worse than spend a little time with Tyrone, one of the happiest hotel gardeners we've met anywhere during our travels - and that's to take nothing from the rest of the staff who couldn't have done more to make our stay a happy one.

Highly recommended for couples and families - the kids seemed to enjoy the swim-up bar as much as their parents (if they want ice-cream, ask for it, it's not on display but the staff were always happy to fetch it for you).

Other tips/advice: the beach is open to the public so here's your first chance to meet the locals: check out Henry the leather worker, Dianne - clothing and jewellery, Engine Bobb, bamboo carving and craft and Dillon the painter (but be wary, they all have carefully hones sales skills). Equally important, don't succumb to the persuasive tongue of the first tour sales-person who approaches you (though he may turn out to be the best in the end). Take your time deciding what you want to do and who with picking up tips from fellow guests who've been there and done it before you - price and trip quality does vary (we used Jameson at 'Jemo Maxi Services 684-3930', a personalised service and a great, knowledgeable guy).

If you like birds (the winged variety), enjoy watching the Pelicans and Frigate birds from the bar and don't miss Ean Mckay's Adventure Farm and Nature Reserve where you can get up close and personal with the hummingbirds - it's around a 35 minute walk from the hotel up Arnos Vale Road in Plymouth, wear a hat and light clothing, I didn't and paid the obvious penalty!

Importantly, if you go to Tobago to enjoy it, as opposed to be critical, you certainly will - it's a friendly, fun island - certainly worth the 9 hour flight from the UK.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms from 122 upwards have the best sea views and direct (5 metre) access to the beach...

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2014

As a lot of the reviewers indicated ..... the hotel is quite dated. However, the atmosphere is still very good

The location of the hotel is great.....it's along the beach itself, and turtles do actually come up during the season, just let the front desk know that you wish to be informed when the turtles are on the beach

The staff are generally friendly and accommodating

The food is okay.......it's not fabulous, its just okay

The drinks are not premium, the bartenders are not great with mixing cocktails, but it's still enjoyable.

The rooms are pretty large and the view from the room is beautiful. We made a last minute booking and got a room that was very far from the lobby area......it's highly recommended to ask for a room closer to the lobby/pool. BTW.....it's amazing to hear the crashing waves from the room..

I think the pool is the best part of the hotel......it's very big and and you don't feel too crowded when the hotel is fully booked.

Along the beach the hotel has carrot sheds provided, but most of them need replacing.......but if you do get a decent one, it's very relaxing to lay on your lounge chair and take in the breeze and listen to the sound of the ocean while sipping on a glass of wine or any other beverage of your choice

Also with your all inclusive package, you have access to the water sports.....take advantage of this because if you go to the other beaches you will have to pay a high price for the same equipment

Generally the hotel is nice......but in my opinion it needs a major upgrade....

Room Tip: The rooms further from the lobby are very quiet......however it's a longer walk to the pool
