“Beautiful Villas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2014

These villas are fantastic bigger than normal pool and surrounding area than most villas I have stayed in. The villas themselves are most spacious, quiet and the staff excellent. They are very clean and close to quite a few restaurant on Jl Raya Uluwatu and you are not far from Jimbaran Bay also. We would stay again and we have already been quite a few times over the last year also family.

Room Tip: All rooms are good 4 x 3 bed Villas and 3 x 1 bedroom just depends how many people are with you I th...

We stayed here for a week in January 2014 and had a wonderfully relaxing holiday. The villas are located just off the main road JL Raya Uluwatu, but we couldn't hear the traffic. The surrounding buildings are locals accommodation and the roosters and geese act as an alarm clock. I have to say that the accommodation was very nice. We were upgraded to a 3 bed villa, although two of the bedrooms were locked up, not that we needed them. Just a few little niggles, the usual sort of Bali things. The food was fine and the staff, in the main, were very pleasant. A few hints for anyone else who finds this review useful. There is a Warung at the top of the road "Warung Makken Made" it's on JL Raya Uluwatu, just as you turn off to go the the villas - the food is fantastic and super cheap. The massage shop a couple of doors up also does a really good massage for 10 times less than the hotel spa. If you're going to get taxis to Nusa Dua or to Kuta or anywhere else, then be sure you ask them to call you a taxi meter. The fares are far less than the hotel shuttle costs. Also be aware that there is a service charge included in all costs. It seems to be something that is happening more and more across Bali rather than improving the wages of staff. Of course it does mean that you are obliged to reward everyone even if the service is poor. But, hey in the scheme of things it's not a lot compared to Aussie costs.

It was my 40th birthday and first time to Bali! With no reference point whatsoever I took a chance on this villa and I am thrilled I did! The staff was amazing and super accommodating not to mention extremely helpful given this was our first time to Bali! The villa was amazing and uber-spacious, the perfect location for serenity, privacy or a group of friends partying in the comforts of their own space.

Quiet, calm and serene with all the comforts one would want away from home. The layout was perfect for a private retreat feel or for gathering. The main restaurant and pool was refreshing without the touristy feel.

The staff went out of their way to make our stay a dream come true AND memorable with a surprise birthday song, cake and floral arrangement while I was at the front desk. No request was too big or small for that matter. Breakfast in the villa at our request, the spa and spa packages provided just the right amount of relaxation to this very special trip.

Oh my god. This place was heaven. My girlfriend and I were upgraded upon arrival to the 3 bedroom villa (400sqmt), it was insane, we had more space than we knew what to do with. The building style and quality is local balinese, with a touch of modern, and very tastefully done with very high quality materials. The bed is super comfortable, the private villa pool is clean, wonderful and the perfect temperature. The whole place looks gorgeous at night. The restaurant is situated beautifully with jungle views and nice setting aside the common pool. The staff was very nice and happy giving us a very personal experience, greeting us with warmth every morning, tending to all our needs and giving us recommendations as to where to find secret beaches or other activities. The location is kind of in the middle of no where (which was in no way a problem, what's the point of being in a beautiful private villa if it has to compete for your attention a bustling part of town?) Because of this I highly recommend renting a motorbike so you can get yourself wherever you want (everything is <20min ride from there anyway). The only area for improvement I think would be the food, it was relatively bland and costly as compared to the local warung just on the main street outside. Everything else was so fantastic, we hardly noticed.

Room Tip: rent a motorbike, it will be much better for getting around the area

Stayed there for 4 nights with friends and families for my cousin's destination wedding in Aug 2013. For a 3 bedroom villa with its own private pool, common room and kitchen, price paid for the hotel is fairly decent as compared to other well known hotel chains (ie: Four Seasons, Marriot, Banyan Tree..etc) or the other hotels at Nusa Dua....

Concierge and hotel staffs are very polite and helpful...

Rooms and bathroom is spotless, the entire property is fairly new, less than 2 years old, so everything is still very well maintained and serviced....

Common room comes with kitchen and dining table, kitchen has full sized fridge and microwave and some utensils like forks and spoons...common room has sofas and TV as well

Our friend who went to Bali earlier than the rest of us before she joined us at Mahaghiri, she stayed in another villa which costs more, but she said it wasn't as good coz it wasn't as well maintained as the villas have been established for quite a while...so I guess new and old villas make a difference in Bali....

Decor + Furniture in rooms and bathrooms is exquisite....

Bad point of the villa is that is fairly far away from everything...and Ungasan has not much to offer...but with a full time driver at around USD 50 a day, this shouldn't be problem........

Breakfast buffet is basic, as the restaurant is fairly small since the number of villas at the property is very limited, it is logical that there is no need to offer a wide selection of food...taste and quality of food is average as well.....however the restaurant staffs were very polite and services were good.....

Overall, for those who want a relaxing trip in Bali away from the chaotic Kuta, the hotel is a good choice provided you have a full time driver at all times during your stay.....

I went for my honeymoon trip. We stayed for 8 days and it was the best villa ever. I stayed in villa# 102 it was a Three Bedroom Villa and it was an upgrade from the hotel. In my life I went to a lot of hotels but this hotel is one of the best hotels ever I went. The people there are very polite and very helpful. I recommend this hotel for anyone wants a relaxing vacation or honeymoon trip. They have a driver drives you to jimbaran bay and dreamland for free. In jimbaran bay it is a good place for seafood on the beach and to watch the sunset. But be careful that there is a lot of price deference between the restaurants. The driver will always recommend expensive restaurants and places that he takes commission from them. First restaurant was (jbs) which the driver dropped us there I paid nearly 150 $ then after search online I asked the driver to drive us to a restaurant called (lia café ) I paid 37 $ which was the same portion and with the same taste of food like the first one. Also regarding the spa the driver recommended a very expensive one and it was not that good. Although the hotel offered us a free couple massages for 1 hour but actually they stayed more and it was perfect. Note: At the beginning of the street next to the hotel there is a cheap restaurant that serves delicious food with a very good price in front of ck market.

Room Tip: villa # 102

We've stayed at Mahagiri Dreamland pool-villa for 6 nights and it felt like being on honeymoon once again. I could wish for a more romantic stay with my husband!

Our villa was a truly luxury experience, with open-air living room with TV and kitchen and dining area. And your private pool with two sunbeds! Nothing can compare to waking up in the morning and jumping into your own pool right away. Kitchen has everything one may need: full size fridge, dishes and utensils for cooking etc. The sleeping room has a king-size bed, where I had one of the best hotel sleeps of my life.

The hotel personnel is very attentive, friendly and smiley and do make a special effort to remember each guest by name. The only down side is that the reception lady didn't speak much of an English and therefore was not of much help, when we asked for some travel tips.

Breakfast was tasty though my husband would appreciate some bigger quantities. It's was a la carte breakfast, as in most Bali hotels.

The hotel offers a shuttle bus to nearest beach, but I don't think it's wise to stay at this villa without your own transport, as it is really very far from everything. You have to get prepared that you will have to drive at all times to and from the hotel and the roads are chaotic. But we had a rented car in-spite of all forums telling against it, and we did just fine. It's really fantastic to explore the peninsular by car, stopping by small restaurants and beautiful beaches.

There was a small detail that made us feel weird about the hotel - at the check-in they ask for a money deposit in cash for your possible expenses during your stay. Seemed like a lack of trust towards the guests. Asking for credit card details as a guarantee would be more professional from my point of view.
