I just came back from phuket of 3d2n stay in this hotel. I didn't expect it would be so out of the way of everything. When I checked in, I was so hungry I asked the front desk where I can find Food, with very little English, she said 'I don't know' and tried to explain around that area there's no restaurants, that if I wanna eat, I could try their own. I refused the offer since she already admitted that she didn't know. After trying my luck outside and had my stomach refilled, I got in the room. It was way better than I expected. Very spacious, clean and nice. The only thing I wanna kick myself for choosing this hotel is the location. I asked the front desk how I could go to patong beach. They told me there's no taxi around for me to waive (which is true) and they can call 1 for me and costs me 700 baht. I was so surprised at the price they stated to me that taken me aback. I paid for the cab 650baht from the airport to this hotel and, if u look at the distance from Google maps, it's like u go from north to south of the whole phuket. And to get me from there to patong beach, which is not even a fifth of the previous mentioned route, is more expensive???!?!!?! I asked them why it's like that, they didn't answer and asked me to try the bus though they're not sure if there's still any (?!?!?!). At that moment, I knew there's no point asking from them coz it sounds like they're trying to rip me off instead of helping me preventing one.
Now not that I expect too much from a hotel but I usually travel light and use toothbrush and toothpaste provided in the room. I was in phuket before in another hotel and this is included. So, it is normal for me to expect the same from this hotel. I only realized there wasn't any in my bathroom at night when I wanted to go to bed. I called the reception and asked if they had any. The male staff asked me to wait coz 'he's not very good with English' . So I heard a female voice and she told me to get it from the lobby. To my annoyance, when I stood in front of them, they said 'we finished' and offered to help me buy from outside. Didn't want to create any hassle, I refused and went to bed. The next morning, I went down to check with another front desk staff if they already have the toothpaste stuff and this time she told me 'no have'. So I got the point then.
Overall, it's not a bad experience but I must say all the little things can annoy for the rest of the stay. Also, I noticed that the hotel doesn't look like they have any foreign customers except me. I saw many Thai people having breakfast but only me speaking English. I think that's why it's a difficult task for the staff to communicate with me. I could tell they tried hard. But even a backpacker hostels staff can communicate better. I suggest the hotel improve on their staff language skill
