Our Hong Kong-based friend took us to this place for what turned out to be a very memorable luncheon experience.
I doubt very much we would have found this place without her help, as she knows Phuket gastronomy inside and out. She was in her element taking us here. As soon as we arrived, she was at the fresh fish tanks, looking at this and that, whilst speaking Thai, she deftly ordered the restaurant's fishmongers around to eventually get us the freshest possible seafood dishes that day.
Every Thai dish that arrived at our table was expertly cooked. Even the Thai fried rice was outstanding, along with fried seasonal greens.
Service at these institution-like places tends to be extremely detached, with waiters and waitresses offering little or no smiles. It is all business here, so, dig in, and don't demand too much from them. You'll get what you ordered, but, don't expect any charm when it arrives at table! Thai wines and beers are available for purchase.
All in all, this was one of our favourite luncheon experiences on the island. Simple and carefree best described our outing here, with the restaurant seemingly floating above water.
