“What terrible place to stay.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2013

We stayed at this hotel last May and when we went up to our room the bathroom had mould on the shower walls. The mould was on my finger that I put along the wall . We went down to get something for lunch ,they didn't understand us when we asked for our order. I ended up showing the three staff what I wanted on the menu. Then we had trouble trying to pay for it .Nothing was close by. We left after six hours we got no money refounded and got a lovely resort in Karon .Two days later I as very ill which ruined our trip never again would I stay there .

The grand lobby suggests that this was quite the hotel back in the day.

The room I was in was much bigger than an average hotel room. But, the place just had the feel of being on the decline. Carpets were worn, really needs repainting, and the room had a powerful musty smell about it.

Hardly any power points in the room, which was a pain!

Staff were really nice.

I have nothing but praise for this hotel. It is clean, well maintained and the breakfast buffet was very good. It is located very close (5 mins walk) to the airport shuttle bus station. I also rented a scooter across the street.

We stayed one night at this hotel because it is close to the pier where we took the ferry to Phi Phi Don. Checking-in and out was difficult and not efficient. They tried to charge us twice for the extra bed. Rooms are small, shower got clogged. The hallways smell humid. Service at breakfast was really bad. I do not recommend to stay in this place.

I had recently the opportunity to host a workshop open to the public at the Royal Phuket City hotel. I was nicely surprised by the quality of the service and the excellent Thai food served during lunch.
Following such experience I seriously consider using this hotel as a venue to my next workshop

Old City-Boutique hotel in the heart of Phuket Town. The location may be not suitable for tourists looking for sea sun sand. Upon 3rd floor, you will find Aerobic centre, full equipment of fitness centre and swimming pool (old but clean).
