Concerned over the high entrance fees, however pleasantly suprised.
The pre show activties i found more entertaining than the show itself. After reading the reviews about the food, we had an early dinner before the show, which turned out to be the best choice. There is alot of pre show entertainment that would be missed if you went for dinner.
Get there early as the doors open, there is plenty to do .
The village is incredible, even though its geared up for the tourists , it is superbly finished with very friendly staff that make the experience unforgetable.
There is games for the kids, free boat rides, traditional food tasting , crafts etc all for free. There is Thai kick boxing, you can feed the elephants, watch them have a bath, and perform hula hoop tricks etc.
There is a small pre show in the lobby , which unless you one of the first in, will battle to get a good view, this could be improved with better seating or more room for visitors.
You cannot take any photographs once inside, sadly. The show has superb props and costumes, to a standard that could rival broadway or the west end. Lots of colourful well choreographed scenes. Even " raining " into a river on stage which is quite impressive, a little interaction with the audience which adds some comedy.
It is designed for the diverse cultures in the audience, so not much narration, and mimed through 90% of the show, which I felt some more narration would have been better.
Never the less, other than Phang Nga, it is the best attraction by far on Phuket , and all visitors should not miss this
