“not bad but overpriced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2012

We had a delux room in February. The room looks good with balcony and the size of the room was o.k., but it was full with mosquito. The furniture and the bathroom looks old, but this is the one of the oldest hotel on Karon Beach. The room was 2400 baht/night, this quality in Pattaya a few days ago was only 1300 Baht.
The cleanliness? Hmm,maybe average, i think the cleaning staff not very enthusiastic.
The location of the hotel is perfect, the restaurant and the breakfast is good ( 3 kind of bread and eggs, fruit juices, tea, coffe, etc.).
The staff at reception desk is also good and there is in the lobby a tourdesk also.
There are two pools ( one for children) and chute to the pool but the the water sometimes seemed not clear.
Overall, it was not bad but overpriced like all Phuket.

Stayed here for the 2nd year in a row. Bungalow room this year was older than previous year and not as nice. However, the gardens, pool area and location across the street from the beach made up for it. The breakfast buffet is very very good. Rooms are cleaned every day and the staff are nice and helpful. Would stay again but would request a more updated bungalow.

Room Tip: Book in advance so you can requeste and updated bungalow i.e. painted versus wood panels which makes...

Great location on the north end of Karon Beach, the beach is just across the road (you can rent chairs and umbrellas for a low price on the beach), and it's within walking distance to the tiny downtown area and lots of restaurants. The hotel has a decent pool and a full breakfast. We didn't book ahead; it was low season so we just walked in a negotiated a great price for 5 nights.

Room Tip: Negotiate your price!

After me and my partner got chatting to a lovely man from Denmark whilst in Krabi, he we told him we were going to Phuket for a few nights. He sand the golden sand inn so highly that we got a taxi without even looking at pics reviews etc. Big mistake. We got there and the lady wanted 1000baht a night (we were told by the man from Denmark he had only paid 500) so after explaining this along with bartering, we got it for 500. We got to the room and the smell hit you like a round with Mike Tyson. It was a VERY damp and musky smell which was horrendous! It looked like it hadn't been cleaned...or aired....in over a month. No worries we thought as the room would be cleaned the following day. I must use that term loosely as we got back from a day from the beach after hoping and praying it would be better....No.

Granted @ 47 to the pound it was cheap, however you would still expect it to be clean. If you decide to go however, avoid room 4!

We stayed in this hotel for one night. I wouldn't have stayed longer. We had a double standard room. We went into the room which was over run with Mosquitos,I was bitten 4 times in ten minutes...so we asked to be upgraded. The superior room was better, was a lot cleaner and there was a balcony but again daren't even open the door because of Mosquitos.I think they have a real problem.

The location was right on karon beach. The beach is nice enough, very busy.we stayed in Lara beach before which in my opinion is much nicer and less seedy than karon.

Would definitely not stay here again and probably wouldn't stay in karon again either.

We stayed at this place for three nights during Januari 2011.
The rooms were very dirty and in poor condition.
The good things with the resort is the location, just cross the street and you're on the beach. Another good thing is the pool which is big and sunny during almost the whole day.
It was very noisy during the nights since there's several nigtclubs in the area playing very loud music.

Overall i wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here.

Low season Thailand is paradise. We have outstanding weather, and basically had this hotel to ourselves. We stayed for 6 nights, and booked into a superior bungalow for 700baht a night. We were 'upgrade' for no additional cost to a deluxe room (which is in the hotel section). There is really no difference in quality between the superior and deluxe rooms, but we did notice that we ad no mozzie upstairs, but there were alot around the pool (and perhaps in the bungalows as well since they were on the same level). The room was large, with a nice deck, but this was very noisy! The cleaning was not great, I don't think that the bathroom was cleaned during our stay, but for this price we could make compromises.

The location is unbeatable. It is right across from a gorgeous beach, 2 mins walk into the main town. If you stay up the hills, it's 200 baht to catch a taxi into town.

I recommend eating at Mali Seafood across from the hotel. It is outstanding. Also, the popular Red Onion in town was unbeatable in price and quality.

Staff were OK - breakfast was generous, but I wouldn't pay to eat in the restaurant.

Enjoy your trip to Thailand!
