I stayed at Centara Karon in Nov 2012 for 8 nights. Staff were excellent, the hotel is central. 5 minutes walk from karon beach can also walk into Kata.
rooms are modern spacious and clean to a high standard daily. fresh bottled water delivered daily.
hotel is couple and family friendly.
Breakfast is all you can eat and plenty of choice, fresh fruit, hot food, pastries.
taxis can easily be booked through the hotel, the hotel is security gated for guest safety. I never seen any crime in this area.
markets on sundays and lots of local stalls, shops.
Happy hour and regular BBQ around the pools are good.
Restaurants are okay, found better places 2 minutes up the street.
free hour wifi daily.
I did not get the chance to use the spa but it looked amazing!

We stayed here for one night in February 2013.

The room was small, especially once they added the additional bed for my child. The bed is quite hard and pillows too flat. Bathroom was clean and cozy. The view from the hotel balcony was spectacular. The staff were all polite and willing to assist. The hotel also offer 20 minutes free WiFi which was really useful. We only visited the one pool which was sparkling blue. Breakfast variety was good.

The main downside for me was the distance to the beach and the area around the hotel. I would not recommend for old folks and parents with kids.

weve just returned from a stay in the centara karon resort phuket.and loved it the hotel was central to karon,the staff were welcoming and very cheerful.we stayed in the terraces,and found them clean and comfortable.it was a return visit and would certainly come back again.

Me, my husband and 7yr old son stayed in Centara Karon for 5 nights. I must say the resort is very beautiful,facilities are nice,very clean rooms but not very muslim friendly food. My son loved the lagoon pool. No issues with check in. Very close to beach. I would reccommend this hotel.
