“Best property in Phuket!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2014

Spent a week in Jan 2014, with the kids, superb hotel, safe full of amenities and sport activities, tennis, squash, pools, gym and to top it all of a beautifully maintained private beach! All day dining on the beach from the hotel, pizzas etc...super service and staff is well experienced on how to handle a packed large hotel, no mishaps...Special mention to Ms. Treechada...lovely girl who knew what would be good for the family and suggested suitable options...great transportation from the hotel into Patong and kata beaches...Super holiday!

Room Tip: Best rooms are the ones facing the pool...they all look out onto the sea too!

Best part of the hotel is the beach. It was beautiful. When we went into the center of Phuket we were shocked at how dirty the beach and water was, and we could not wait to get back to the hotel. Restaurants at the hotel were good, not amazing, and the baby elephant that walked down to the beach was one of the coolest things we had ever seen. Would definitely recommend.

Dear 'TheBobo'

Thank you for your review. We are surely delighted that you enjoyed your time with us and that you particularly enjoyed the secluded beach. Obviously I am biased when I say that the secluded beach next to the hotel is certainly a welcome respite from the busier beaches of Phuket especially Patong. Not many hotels on the island enjoy the same seclusion - much less with convenient proximity to the shopping and entertainment districts. It's great that you enjoyed your time with Valentine - he is such a popular ambassador of Le Meridien Phuket. Many thanks for your feedback and kind endorsement. We look forward to having you again soon.

Beautiful resort near all the shopping and nightlife. The hotel has great pools, descent restaurants five international selections and a beautiful coved private beach about 500 meters long. But be prepared to pay a high price. You will pay 7% VAT & 10% surcharge on all beverages , Food and any items bought from the shops at the resort.
Great Location only 10 minutes by Tuk Tuk. Walk out side the resort just past the security gate on the right hand side at the last restaurant there you will get a taxi for 200baht, you will also negotiate a driver and 8 seater vehicle for 1000 baht for 5 to 6 hours. See the guy with the blue pony tail at the restaurant and he will organise it for you.
At the resort you can jet ski(fee) Parasail(fee). You will be entertained with a local elephant that visits the beach around 11am and 4pm daily. Great for family pictures and you can feed the elephant. His name is Valentine and he is 2 years old. If you take a taxi from the resort it will cost you 300Baht and a driver and 8 seater around 1200 Baht for 5 to 6 hours.

Room Tip: Garden views is sufficient. Don't waste your money paying for ocean view as you will not spend m...

Dear 'skydiver23'

Thank you for your review. We're delighted to learn that you enjoyed your stay with us. Thank you for highlighting the resort's location, convenient proximity to Patong and Karon, and the beautiful secluded beach next to the hotel. I would like to add that the jetski and parasailing services do not belong to the hotel and are privately managed and operated by third-party groups. Same for the massage, and beverage huts on the beach. It's great that you enjoyed Valentine's company - this lovable baby elephant is indeed popular with guests and his twice-daily visits to the hotel is much awaited by all. Many thanks for staying with us and we look forward to welcoming you back to Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort soon.

We just spent 12 days here and would return. The room was big enough, comfortable bed and nice balcony overlooking the pool and ocean. The staff from check in to the housekeeping was friendly and helpful. The food was fine - not a priority in my world so not something I get too worked up. The Japanese restaurant food was good but the service staff got a little overwhelmed so our food was a bit slow coming out so if that bothers you - dont go on Saturday night. The beach is large with lots of umbrellas. You can walk out quite far into the ocean and still have a sandy bottom. The workout facility is decent - 3 of each treadmill, eliptical and bike plus free weights. I did not use the spa but my sister did and said the massage was good.

The private beach is the best feature of the resort... Beautiful white sands and nice water! Staff are really friendly and polite. The room we got was a bit outdated...not as clean as you would expect it..... And yeah people that come here are a bit older and mainly Russian - it's like being in Russia with warmth and palm trees - so wouldn't recommend it for young people... Other than that great beach and F&B outlets. Also the transportation desk was great! Staff were really helpful in organising trips and having the driving staff wait for us at different tourist spots and bring us back to the resort.

The room was as simple as it could be.
The breakfast was also nothing special, juices were not freshly made.
There were problems with electricity and we couldn't charge mobiles and laptops for half of the day.
Due to poor quality of the whower cabin doors, water from the shower cabin came out and whole bathroom floor was covered with water - hotel assistants didn't fix the problem.
The water in the shower was so chlorised that I felt the smell of chloride from my skin during the whole day.
One day my friends came to take pictures of us on the hotel territory. Hotel's personnel let them on the territory only after keeping their passports. They also pointed out that it is prohibited to let my friends enter my room, swim in the pool or use any other hotel facilities.
This was very unpleasant (

Among the good things:
- there were many beach facilities that we could use
- staff was helpful to connect computer to TV via cable

Dear 'teti2014'

Thank you for choosing to stay at Le Meridien Phuket and for your review. We regret to learn that you did not have an entirely enjoyable stay at the Hotel. There was an unscheduled temporary powercut in January which lasted for several hours as the provincial electricity board had to perform emergency maintenance on one of the high-voltage power lines outside the resort. This temporary power failure not only affected the Hotel but nearby venues as well. I regret that this caused inconvenience to you. I have shared your feedback regarding the condition of the room you stayed in with our engineering team to review. Non-staying guests or visitors who have friends staying at the Hotel are requested to provide a copy of a valid identification for safety and security purposes. The hotel's swimming pools and facilities are of course primarily reserved for guests who are staying at the hotel. It's nice of you to mention the help you received from our associates and we thank you for including this in your review. Many thanks again for staying with us and we all wish you pleasant journeys.

We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights on points. Really enjoyed the private beach, and the amenities they had like the hobie cats, and paddle boards for free of charge. Restaurants were ok, definitely overpriced for what you got, drinks don't bother, get a beer. If you want some great meals go out in town. Also, theres a shack on the beach to the left of the property and they sell great cut up fruit, fresh smoothies and soft drinks for less then half of what the resort cost. I travel all over the world and have never been to a 5 star hotel where it is 95% one nationality (Russian). It would have been fine if they were friendly people, but definitely did not get that vibe (don't smile, talk, and very rude towards Americans). It was a shame, when we did meet people that smiled and cared to say "hello", they were thrilled to talk because they felt the same way as us (they were from the US, England or Austraila). I do want to say, the Thai staff, whether it was the cleaning staff and the people that help you book outside trips were WONDERFUL! We stayed at the Le Meridien in Chiang Mai and had a wonderful experience, lots of different nationalities and a totally different vibe. Don't get me wrong, if I had planned a trip to Russia then it would have been different, but that was not the case. I was in Thailand and did not want to feel like I was in Russia. The private beach is the BEST feature of this hotel, the rooms are ok, nothing to write home about, and it is definetly off the beaten path which we liked away from the noise of Patong but had to get a car whenever you wanted to leave the property. I think if I were to go back to Phuket, I would stay in Kata Noi area.

Dear 'timeless71'

Thank you for staying with us and for your time in sharing your feedback. I am sorry to learn that your stay was not entirely satisfactory. Throughout the year Le Meridien Phuket welcomes guests from different countries. Depending on the season, the Hotel may have more guests coming from one or two countries and this scenario is not only endemic to the Hotel but throughout Phuket. Meanwhile, we sincerely appreciate your appraisal of our associates and thank you for comments on this. We hope you'll choose to stay with us again.
