Good location, reasonable pricing and spacious room. Easy to find and friendly staff. Also extra points for own balcony in every room. Little bit noise from backyard where the generators and such are but not a problem.

Room Tip: Aim high for best views and more quiet

Simplitel is centrally located. Karon beach and the temple market are located close by. You have a great choice of restaurants within a 500m radius of the hotel . Highly recommend Papaya, Two Chefs and Nami ice cream. Family mart is located on the ground floor.
The rooms are big with comfy beds. Basic amenities such as a safe, bottled water, mini fridge(no mini bar), shower caps and small bars of soaps are provided. You even get beach towels. On entering the room for the first time, it was spotlessly clean. However on subsequent days of my stay, the standard was a lot lower. Towels were not changed and used glasses were not cleaned.
My room was on the 5th floor and had the city view. This isn't Patong so you aren't going to be disturbed by loud music or cars at night. In any case, with the balcony doors shut, there is virtually no noise that filters through.
Breakfast starts early so that helps if you've booked an early morning tour. Breakfast options are plenty - coffee/tea, salad, fruits, an egg station, toasts, cornflakes, yogurt, sausage/ham/bacon, grilled potatoes, boiled corn/ sauted vegetables along with 2-3 Thai choices( pad thai, fried rice)
I'd say this is a good choice if you'd like something which is comfortable, reasonable and centrally located.

We've stayed in this hotel from 2/02-13/02/15 in a mountain view twin room on the 6 floor in room 606. The staff is nice and speak English. The Hotel is located on a busy street with lots of shops, restaurants and spa salons. Not far from the beach. The room is nice and big. Bathroom is a little bit outdated, the bathroom towels are white colour and look not very clean with spots. Beach towels look dirty and have not been replaced and washed. Breakfast is not very good, so we preferred to eat our own food from the supermarket on the balcony. Fresh fruits are limited, just 2 small plates, obviously not enough for everyone. They have egg station, but we did not like it. Not a big choice for everything and not tasty at all.

Room Tip: Choose mountain view and upper level rooms. Better view and quieter.

Bed-clothes no one time changed for 10 night staying at hotel. In other all good. Nice rooms, good breakfast, but officiants not let to place outside on veranda, only inside. I think they don't like to go long distance - additional 5 steps.

Stayed here a night after spending 3 in Patong... I must admit it is far from Bangla and main action but it is a good laid back area with cleaner, less crowded beaches. Hotel is on the main street and central to all restaurants, massage places, 5 mins walk to the beach and currency exchange places are nearby. We rented a bike from the next door lady who ran a small restaurant and a small lodge (200 THB a day). We also rented a taxi to airport from that lady at 900THB which was cheaper than 1200THB quoted by hotel and 1000THB quoted by taxi drivers. There is a small store with medical supplies and groceries next door. Also, right outside is an ice cream place run by a wonderful couple (must try)... Also is close to Nin Massage which we felt was really good.. Overall a good place for people in $50-$75 budget range.

I have stayed for one week at this hotel, together with a friend. We've booked 2 separate rooms but they were not aware of it, therefore it took a while to sort the extra room needed.
The rooms are clean, but the main problems are the bathrooms. I've changed room twice ( after looking at as many as 4 rooms ) until I found one with a non-smelly bathroom. I think the entire hotel has this issue, the sewage smell can be felt in the bathroom. One solution was to keep the fan on in the bathroom at all times.
Despite this discomfort, the experience was pleasant. Stuff is helpful. There is a parking garage underneath for your scooter rentals. Location is not bad and there are few reasonable restaurants just outside the hotel.

Room Tip: Dont be shy to ask for a room change ( several times ) if bathroom smells funny.
