As the name of the hotel suggests, it is simple, but that's all we needed! Simplitel is in a great location in Karon, close to many good places to eat and just 5mins walk up the road to the beach and 5mins in the opposite direction to the markets. The staff are all really friendly, the hotel is clean, there is free wifi that works well.
My only gripe would be that we booked a double room, but were put in a twin. However, if I had actually made a complaint, I sure we would have been moved. It just wasn't a big enough deal for us to make a fuss out of.

Stayed here for 5 nights for 10000 THB with breakfast. We got a room facing the Centara Villas' pool area and the hills, so it was nice and quieter than the other facing which has the street view & the higher floors on 5th & 6th have a partial view of the sea. Liked the convenience to shops, restaurants & amenities at the doorstep. Karon beach which I think is the nicest beach amongst Patong, Kata & Kamala, is just 5 mins walk away. If you are more interested in shopping, you're better off staying in Patong & then going over to Karon beach for the occasional daytrip to the beach since it costs 300 THB one way with tuk tuk. The room was big and roomy with comfortable beds. The bathroom was clean and spacious. There's a balcony to sit out and enjoy the view. If not for the Centara's air conditioner fans and generator located next to the hotel, it would have been perfect. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Ok, consider the price and it would be tough to match Simplitel. It is as clean and modern as all of the pictured dipict. There is an in-room, laptop compatible safe, coffee maker, hair dryer, it is very clean and nice. During the day it can be noisey but hey you are in a beach community. It quiets right down around 10:00pm or so so sleep is easy. Artic cold AC and nice staff are a big plus. They have solid wifi in the room and the rest of the property as well. Many have commented that the breakfast buffet was lacking. I did not experince that. It had a noodle dish for local flavor, western style choice of two meat items, potatoes, fried egg, jam and jelly for toast, juice coffe and fresh fruit. Again think of the price and I will tell you this will be a great stay. It easily could have cost more and still been a good value.

Excellent hotel for less price (low season about 1000 Baht/ high season 1500 Baht). Large, clean and very nice rooms with balkony.
