“Quiet Quality Hotel near all the Eateries”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

We stayed in this Hotel for a week.
Good location tucked away from the noise.Room was very nice with good aircon and a good selection of breakfast. Staff were always very helpful.Hilton the owner was always around for sound advice. You can book all the trips nearby.

Suggest you ask for an airport transfer as not many people know where the Hotel is.

Overall the hotel was well situated in a quiet street off one of the main strips that has lots of well priced restaurants and bars. The walk to the beach isn't as long as other reviewers have made out, about 7-10mins max. One thing the hotel does not mention on its webpage is the hotel is laid out over three separate buildings, but this seems to be fairly common in Phuket. On our arrival the receptionist was very helpful, she showed us to our room etc.

Surprisingly there was no information (bar the price list for the spa) provided. I think this is definitely an issue that the hotel needs to address. The room itself was mostly clean. The curtains could do with a wash and some of the fixtures and fittings were loose and in need of repair. However, each day the room was cleaned and remade as one would expect and fresh towels were provided each day. The room also had a lovely balcony, with a drying rack, which is very handy! Like other reviewers have mentioned the TV reception was poor but there's plenty more to do besides watch TV. The wifi reception was great and worked well during our visit.

Breakfast in the restaurant was good, but ensure you ask for the eggs well done or you will get them RAW! Also you have to pay extra for another coffee which is ridiculous because the cups are tiny!!

The hotel does provide a service whereby they will arrange trips for you. Don't use this. Shop around at the million or so other tour provider centres dotted along the streets. You will get a much better deal at these ( half the price of the hotel in some cases).

In general the hotel is great if you are looking for a base for you holiday and don't plan on spending much time at your hotel. For the price you pay it's very good value with very helpful staff.

Room Tip: Any room you choose in this hotel would be fine, the views and noise level aren't an issue given...

I'll start by saying that the staff at the hotel were exceptional and pretty much left us wanting for nothing. We arrived really late and were later still because we were the last drop off on the shuttle from the airport. However, we were warmly greeted upon arrival. The Dutch family who runs the place, especially the brother, bend over backwards to ensure you have everything you need for your stay. On the day we departed, our taxi to the Ao Nang ferry never arrived but the hotel staff really stepped up and made it happen.

Location
Kata Beach Center is located a ways from the beach in a small commercial center that has bars and hotels. To get to the beach is about a 15 minute walk, some of it down a path that runs next to a smelly creek. While the location of the hotel isn't great, it's relatively quiet and certainly far from the chaos of Patong. This isn't beach front property but pay less and have the upside of great owners

Room
The room we had was surprisingly large. Our room was in the same building as reception and overlooked the main street out front. It was comfortable though had some random sounds of construction during the day from the site next door.

Overall, we had a good stay and for the price we'd certainly stay there again given the helpfulness of the staff.

Modest rooms are 30-40% overpriced for both size & fixtures, ‘benign neglect’ maintenance style, swimming pool adjacent to a public walkway, poor TV reception, a 1km walk to the beach, 10% surcharge on restaurant meals (water B33 for a 500mL bottle!). Upon checking into Room #112, the A/C wouldn’t work, missing luggage rack (for our suitcase), two ceiling lights were burned out, bedside light was burned out, missing hair dryer, hard & ridged mattress, ants on the table/desk, inoperable wall clock, and no info/map/brochure/rates on hotel facilities. Management was quickly informed that we were disappointed that their TripAdvisor ‘Certificate of Excellent’ actually delivered mediocrity.

This hotel is situated in a quiet little sanctuary away from the crouds but within good walking distance from the beach and good restaurants. Its staff were friendly, helpful and responsive when asked. Although the hotel is only 3 or so years old it looks a bit rough around the edges already,eg. curtain nets need a good wash, drain in shower needed coaxing to drain properly. Breakfast is chosen from a good range on a set menu and there is no variation allowed unless you pay extra. I thought this was a bit stingy. Tiny cups meant that every morning I needed to pay for an extra coffee to start my day. Not great on the cocktails, would give these a miss.
Fridge and safe in the room, balcony with drying rack meant that we had everything we needed.

Room Tip: we stayed on the first floor but wonder if top floor would have had a better view. You would need to...

I had booked into this Hotel reading the reviews of the friendly staff and owner and every review was true. The place is situated inside the beach centre premises, which houses other hotels too. The Experience was wonderful and it is amazing the way they treat their guest. I had booked into the Deluxe Room, which had one twin bed and one single cot, spacious room and lovely amenities. I would recommend this hotel to every person, looking for solitude and quiet environment away from Patong beach. Patong Beach is hardly 15-20 mins ride away from Kata Beach Centre Hotel and makes up for a lovely scenerio travelling through Karon beach and moving towards Patong Beach.

I highly recommend renting a Bike, just outside the beach centre on the right hand side, is Tips tours and Travels, you would either meet Ped or Rainbow, they are awesome people, make you feel welcome and entertain you with their talks. I would say, this has been a beautiful experience for me and my love. We traveled more than expected in our limited budget constraint, since we had the bike and could travel to anyplace at anytime, so strict guidelines of sticking to a time based tour package.

Go Ahead and spend few days, in the lust of this amazing island. Don't forget to visit the Kata view point centre for a beautiful view of the Island and amazing sunset. Have a great trip and enjoy nature.

Room Tip: Always post reviews of your experience, helps others for a lovely experience too.

This one is a little off the main strip but it is worth the money. It has its own swimming pool, restaurant, beauty salon and pool table. The staff were very friendly and helpful, allowing us to leave our bags and then shower at the salon late in the afternoon before our flight. Our room was big and had a decent size fridge. The beach is just a short walk away and there is a great massage place just down the road.
