“Simply Breathtaking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2010

After an incredibly long flight walking into the foyer was simply breathtaking. The foyer overlooking Nai Yang Beach from the top of the valley. The hotel itself is just beautifull with immaculate grounds and incredibly lovely staff. After one night we were upgraded to one of the Deluxe Beach Front Villas with our own private pool at no extra cost. The villa itself was amazing with common outdoor area and 2 seperate bedrooms with one of them easily being converted into a dining room. The master bedroom was tastfully decorated with a beautifull large mozaic bath. We had access to our own private beach and our own private pool. The staff were so incredibly nice and willing to help you with anything they could to the best of their ability. The hotel restaurant was reasonably priced but a 15 minute walk down Nai Yang beach would bring you to a plethora of beach front restaurants that were more than reasonably priced. I highly recommend Mr Kobi's Bar, the food is simply stunning and the people are the nicest i have ever met. The only downside to Adamas is it is a 30min trip to Patong but the hotel does offer a free shuttle service daily.
If you are looking for a romantic getaway, relaxation or breathtaking views i HIGHLY recommend Adamas Resort & Spa.

The hotel look nice and elegant.We stulled with big natural park and long pool around the hotel we never ever see before.Checking in very fast and very good service.We love the room design which look nice and feel like home.Specially bathroom with big bath is very impress.We love Terrace which connect to long swimming pool that we enjoyed reading and a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.We say to each other 'Wow! the world belong to us!' We hearing bird singing while we swim or lay down at the pool.We love to swim in the morning and afternoon.And the pool is safe for the kids as it's not too deep.The restaurant was great! good food and good service.The hotel be in the good place 15 mins. from the airport.The beach look clean and charming.Wev would like to back there again soon as we can.This is the best hotel we like to stay agian when we have time for vacation.If you look for right place to spend money,try Adamas!

this hotel and especially the surroundings is the worst tropical beach resort I have ever seen;

hotel pros:
hotel itself beautiful; pool OK; dinner overpriced but OK; service in the pool area OK

hotel cons:
not enough deckchairs at the pool, people were reserving their chairs at 7.00 am; not enough shade; breakfast bad; service in the breakfast area extremely bad and unfriendly;
staff hardly speaks english; only 1 bed at each balcony of the "rooms without direct pool access" with dirty sheets; hotel offers no sports amenities (that we knew before) only gym (not tested) and table tennis and billard: both not possible to use (not one working queue, not enough boules,...); internet access not for free;

yet the worst is the beach: in front of the hotel the sea is miles away, beach looks ugly with a view to a dominating unfinished hotel construction site; public beach some 100 meters away with restaurants and bars is better (at least you have the sea in front of the beach even if full with boats) but you have to walk through a kind of lagoon where the water at high tide comes to your hips and along an extremely dirty stretch of beach in between (garbage, glass, dog-excrements, dead fish) - which is annoying coming back in the night from the cheaper and better restos at the beach!

so a real dissatisfaction; we spent our time with attending scuba diving courses (diving center at the indigo pearl) and diving, otherwise I would have left after 1 day !

This hotel was such a breath of fresh air!!

Upon arrival, we were greeted with a very fragrant flower necklace and juice. If we could bottle up tastes and smells, that would be one we would want with us forever. The lobby overlooks the grounds, and the sea. It was so scenic and beautiful!

We were graciously shown to our room..which had a stunning view of the grounds an the sea. The room itself was spacious, modern and very relaxing!

Food was absolutely delicious, whether it was dinner or breakfast. The breakfast, was absolutely to die for. It was well thought out, and prepared with effort, it was unlike any buffet breakfast we had encountered before.

The location, was a bit out of the way, and we were forced to pay whatever the cab stand (just outside of the hotel..it's cheaper than the hotel transportation) wanted, as there was no where else to go. It's about 40 mins from phuket town and the other "attractions". Needless to say, we stayed at the hotel most of the time.

The beach was nothing to write home about..but the sea is right on the edge of the property and one could walk or swim quite far in it.

THIS IS NOT A 5 STAR RESORT!!

This "5 star resort" was suppose to "crown" our long journey in Thailand. We wanted to relax and enjoy the supposedly high standard hotel and its services - a bit of luxury. It was a disaster! First of all everything was worn-out and seemed old, the building itself, the pool area and restaurant, breakfast room was horrifying (not mentioning the breakfasdt itself..). Our room was one of the pool access ones. It seemed nice at first (if you didn't mind the worn-out feeling of it) BUT after spending some time in the room we realized that it was all moldy. You could smell the mold very distinctly. In the evening we returned to our room and opened the bed - the smell got worse! The whole duvet and also the bed was moldy. Phoned the reception and duty-manager who couldn't speak any english. I kept asking for a person who speaks english and he kept saying "I speak english". He couldn't understand what I ment by the word "duvet" or "bed cover".

And what a dissapointment with the beach!! Yes, it is "a beachfront hotel" BUT the beach is like a kilometer away! During the day when its low tide there is no ocean to swim in and in the evening it is impossible to walk on the beach to the nearby restaurants because of the high tide. So you need to take a taxi and pay for at least 300baht to get to the restaurants. Even though they are a walking distance from the hotel. This is NOT mentioned anywhere. At least they should mention the fact that you cant swim in the ocean because of the low tide. Also the beach was full of junk.

The breakfast was not nearly as good as it had been in our hotel before this - which btw was a 4 star hotel. At this point - after spending the night in a moldy room - we'd had enough and checked out. They let us go without the one nights extra charge. The lady at the reception was very understanding and sorry about our dissapointment.

We of course had to make a new reservation and needed internet access to do that - believe it or not - you have to pay extra for the internet! This I could not believe! A five star resort and guests have to pay extra for the use of internet! And its not all - 2 of the 3 computers didn't work. Staff couldn't do anything about it. Luckily we didn't have to wait very long to get to the computer, reserved another hotel and left at once to a REAL 5 star hotel.

I'm sorry but this hotel is bad news!

My friend and I spent three nights in an Ocean front villa with a private pool and open to the beach. Beautiful hotel, great view, great weather, nice having a private pool. The down sides include: Nice shower, and an outside bathtub (private), which should be a jucuzzi. It was dirty and lame.
The toilet is not private. Glass doors.
The wait staff at the restaurant are terrible. You wait for a long time to get service. The spa is ok, but double what you would pay if you walk up the beach and eat at some of the other great restaurants.
They charge internet fees for their computers which are loaded with viruses. You might take a lap top and use the wi fi ($12 for 3 hours)
Don't take the Adventure tours from the hotel. You sit in a taxi for ever and then wait at boat docks account disorganized tour people. We rented a private boat for $500 on the beach only 1/4 mile from the hotel and spent most of the day going to James Bond Island, private beaches, and had a great time. It was worth the money.
The fitness center sucked. one treat mill and the place isn't always air conditioned.

I had a too short stay at Adamas Resort and Spa on December, 31st 2009 and regretfully left this remote and quiet resort on Jan., 1st 2010.
I dedicated my first afternoon walking down the beach on the left side of the hotel and discovered an unadulterated nature with at least 3 totally desert and unexploited beaches without a single soul. I thought a Robinson Crusoe feeling would be irrelevant in Phuket, what a mistake.
Then came the evening with great efforts on the decoration of the whole place down the sea terrace, with orchids and floral arrangements giving a festive look. The GM, friendly and discreet at the same time, speaks several languages and welcomed everybody in English, German, French and wished a happy new year in Thai language as well. Quite cool. He mentioned the numerous nationalities present that evening, a good idea to show how the place deserves to be known abroad for its quality and location ( especially for those in need of silence and nature and who still look for high end bedrooms ).
The tables looked great with silver and gold, hats in the same tones, delicious Rose sparkling wine served in ice cold containers, live band music and activities during the whole buffet dinner.
As a very picky person when it comes to food, I was extremely surprised that the buffet tasted as if it were made for individuals and not for more than 220 guests. Tantalizing enough to be mentioned here. The lamb gigot was melting in mouth with a perfectly well balanced gravy, the tournedos Rossini was so tempting that a second round was justified, and merguez ( yes, so exotic in Thailand! ) were actually simply the tastiest I ever ate. I should definitely mention the quality of the Thai buffet too with the best Tom Kha Kai I ever enjoyed with the right balance of galanga and a touch of innovation with raisins and very tender chicken; the coconut just had the right consistency. The pork spare ribs got the right mix of aromates and light sweet taste, a real delicacy. Shall I mention the fresh oysters, the tantalizing seafood, the calendar cake, the yummy English Christmas pudding? I can't do another way. Everything, to the tiniest portion presented this evening had a real taste of home made gastronomy. I was glad to talk to the chef Vittorio. He is real food lover when you listen to him. I wish I had experienced that similar top notch food quality in all 5 star hotels I stayed around the world.
If I shall give a mark, that would be a 10/10 with a +.
Keep going on that way!
I wish to all Adamas team a... yummy year 2010!
